Bugis Streets after dark adventure

Some places in the city are walkable day and night as well. With the warm weather conditions we have lately, I prefer going for long walks at night. It's as enjoyable as it is during the day but without the scorching warm sunlight. During the daytime, I usually go to shopping malls because of the air-conditioned environment, and then I go outdoors during the nighttime. There are fewer crowds at night as well. And then it gets less as the time gets closer to midnight.

The thing that I appreciate about the city of Singapore is that it's very safe to roam even during the late hours of the night. The city vibe remains lively even with smaller crowds.

My adventure started as I alighted from the MRT. The stations themselves are already impressive landmarks of the city. The Stevens MRT station boasts super-high escalators that travel across multiple levels.

As soon as I exited the Bugis MRT station, after a 5-minute along the basement level of Bugis Junction Mall, I was welcomed by this spacious courtyard. It's a good place to hang out with friends because there are restaurants and cafes around the area.

Across the Bugis Junction Mall is the Bugis Street shopping center. This spot is popular because of the affordable food and apparel items to buy. There are food stalls that offer trendy snacks that are unbelievably cheap as well.

There's a famous soft-serve ice cream stall that sells for $1 per cone. People queue for this ice cream even at night. I saw a big crowd that was sitting on the planter walls next to this ice cream shop.

There are alleys around the area that feel like sets in a movie. It feels unreal to be walking along these alleys. The wall art is beautiful and the place looks so clean and pleasant.

Walking along the dark alleys of the Bugis area didn't make me feel unsafe at all. I felt comfortable walking in the urban jungle at ease.

There are Buddhist and Hindu temples in the area as well. These places are usually packed with big crowds during daytime.

After being satisfied with what I saw along the streets, I entered the Bugis+ Mall to see if there were stores that were still open. Surprisingly, the gaming arcade is still open, and the Scarlett+ is still operating while the rest are closed for the night.

Outside of the shopping malls is a famous street called Liang Seah Street where the good restaurants of the city still operate even until midnight. This street smells great because of the steam and grilling smoke from the Mookata and steamboat restaurants.

I was immersed in the cool city vibe of the urban jungle. This enjoyable adventure won't be the last and that's for sure.
