My new Adidas sneakers... or not!

For a few months now, I've unfortunately noticed that the sneakers I wear practically all day, and almost every day of the week... Yes, it's true! They're reaching the end of their useful life. I'm a guy who doesn't care much for having a lot of things, or clothes, but when I do buy, I like to have clothes that will last me a while. I can tell you that these sneakers surely have more than 2 thousand kilometers on their soles... They've been with me for over 3 years now. They've been on my feet for most of the Camino de Santiago, they've been to several European countries, including the last HiveFest I attended (Amsterdam)... I miss them. But the point has come where I have to say goodbye to them, or save them only for walking from home to the gym (1.9 kilometers x 2= 3.8 kilometers). I think it was the first time I bought shoes online... I've always been a bit picky when it comes to the materials used, and the feel and way of putting them on, but I was looking at the sneakers that were on sale, and I found these Alpahboost v1 for 72€, where the original price is 120€... I thought it was a good option, and I ended up paying for them with my PayPal account. The balance I have in that account is all from the studies I took part in on the Prolific platform. Do any of you know this platform? It's impressive! Even though I've been registered on that platform for over 3 years, and have already answered around 797 surveys, I've managed to raise over 1100 pounds!

There are studies that are a bit more “boring” than others, but the ones that require more concentration or attention in their submission end up being studies that often pay more than 5 pounds for just over 3 minutes of our time... I think it's a good way of making money, and not difficult.

Well, I ended up ordering the sneakers, which were delivered to my workplace, free of charge. As soon as I tried them on when I got home, I realized that they weren't as comfortable as the ones I had (Boost technology). Although they also had this technology associated with them, the sole was more rigid, which made the heel move out of position very easily.

In the end, I didn't lose anything as I returned them the same week. I took the opportunity to wash my old Adidas, and ended up putting a stitch in the toecap of the broken one! Ahahah Let's see how long they last!

With this experience, I've convinced myself once and for all that I'm not an online clothes shopper... For me, there's nothing like trying things on in a physical store and feeling how I feel. You could say I'm a bit old-fashioned, couldn't you? Do you still go to physical stores to buy your clothes?

At the end of the experience, I realized that there are many more discounts in online stores, because they end up shipping the products from abroad, getting better prices than in the official brand stores.

I still haven't given up looking for replacements for the best pair of sneakers I've ever owned.... Why is it so hard nowadays to find sneakers that are not only beautiful but also comfortable?
