This is one of the fabric from my fabric catalogue I just started making recently. I wish to have a
fabric catalogue with fabrics in different kinds of colors, textures, thickness and all other differences. This way I will be able to know the different names of fabrics that exist and what fabrics will be good for what design. Not every fabric can make every kind of designs, we have to learn that.

Ever since I added this fabric to the catalogue I have been sceptical about what to make with the fabrics.
At first I thought about making a butterfly 🦋 top but I had only 1 trouser length of the fabrics and this won't be enough.

At this point, I learnt a lesson about fabric purchase. Regardless of the size of persons, 2 trouser length of fabrics should be the least amount that one can purchase to make an outfit. For larger and extra large people one can consider increasing this quantity. And then again if you have a special design in mind knowing that some designs accommodate more fabric that other one can purchase more fabrics.
While making a fabric catalogue just near in mind that it is a good thing to keep some tangible amount/quantity of each fabrics.

When in doubt I make dresses

Another thing with this fabric is that I cannot make any sophisticated designs since the quantity of the fabric is limited. A skirt and blouse won't have an good outcome from this. And I'm not ready to try that or get hooked because of limited fabrics
Hence whenever I'm in doubt I make dresses since they can be manipulated easily. with any quantity of fabrics With dresses never go wrong.
The fabric will be enough to sew a dress of size 6 for my measurements but I may not have enough of it to make a sleeve for the dress.

Looking at my closet I knew that I have too many short dresses already, maybe a long dress will fit me as well hence I started cutting the fabric

Upper bodice with a jewel neck for the front block, at least we can make simple designs like this on the dress.

Cloth designs can come from be like manipulations, darts and anything we can alternate to give clothes some nice looks

Did you notice that I made this dress without a dart?
You have to learn about fabrics to know which fabric can be sewn without a dart. Darts added to outfits gives it lovely fittings but adding darts to other kinds of fabrics can cause a disaster ioour sewing😃😀
Little by little I have learnt a lot of these things over the years.

    • And next was sewing stage.

Having coupled this I remember also that the fabric has two faces. The right side was printed in the customized Gucci format

While the wrong side has the flowery design. A tailor friend who equally had some of these fabrics chose to make her clothes with right side which had that Gucci design.

I really don't know which of the sides to chose now but the latter one appealed to me more since I am a lover of sky blue color compared to green.IMG_1500.jpeg

What face of the fabrics do you prefer if you are to be in my shoes?

The sleeves won't be a problem anc will be fixed as soon as I decide which face of the fabric I wanna rock .

    Thanks for your time
