God is an ever forgiving father. His word made us know that His mercies endures forever. But does give us a legal ground to live our lives anyhow. God is offended when we grieve the Holy Spirit. We grieve the Holy Spirit through many ways. One of them which is idol worship which is highly formidable.
Romans 1:25 - Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Since time past, there have existence of idols and there are people who commit into worshipping them as though they are gods. There only one true God in existence and he alone deserves to be worshipped and not idols.
Idols simply the works of people's hands. God made man to be the greatest being that ever existed, yet some people stooped so low as to worship mere idols because they have no idea who they actually are.
Idol worship is an abominable act before the sight of God. God frowns at this and turns His back from such people until the decide to come to repentance.
