For the first time, I earned the Yearly Author badge for posting every day for a year. I feel good about it! It wasn’t easy to stay consistent with daily posts, and there were several challenges along the way. Here are some of the toughest ones:
When I was working at a remote school for a few days, there was no phone signal at all. Luckily, the school had Starlink Wi-Fi. Even though there was no mobile phone signal where I was staying, I was able to post every day thanks to the school’s Wi-Fi. I took advantage of the 10 AM break each day to write and post.
Power outages. When the power goes out, the internet signal also cuts off. But every time this happened, the power would come back just a few hours before the daily post reset. I’m really thankful for that.
I got sick and ended up in the emergency room. One time, I had a severe vertigo attack that knocked me out completely. I couldn’t stand or hear properly, and my body felt weak. It lasted from morning until evening. When I woke up, the first thing that came to my mind was the daily post. So, I gathered some strength, wrote a short post about my condition, and completed the mission for the day.
These are just three of the major challenges I faced throughout the year while posting every day without fail.
For this year, I hope to keep my motivation up and continue posting every day. Right now, as I’m drafting this post, the power is out because three electrical poles at several places broke from being too old. I’m just hoping everything gets fixed soon. For now, my phone managed to catch 1 bar of mobile signal. Signal that come from a sim card that I rarely use. It's free until I am 60 year old. Although the quota is only 2 GB, I am so grateful that it can detect some network signal. It comes and goes, so it’s not very stable. If you're reading this post, that means my phone was able to upload it with that one bar of internet.
Thanks, and have a nice day!
