Today was a stressful day at work and since I could not start the day with a workout, I know that part of it was due to being concerned about not being able to get something in today. Despite this, it was a very active day as I found myself walking plenty between meetings. I was able to finish my scheduled day and head to the gym to get on the treadmill. I wanted to push today as I was feeling better on my ankles so I started at a good pace.
I continued to push every 5 minutes but increasing the pace. Having already started at a slight incline, I was feeling the burn halfway through. I got to half hour and still had some energy so went for five more minutes. As I approach the mark, I realized how close I was to a 5K so kept going to complete it. It was not the best pace but a 5K on the treadmill has always been challenging for me so it felt like a great accomplishment. Cooled down with a walk then some quick core training on the mat before heading home to shower and get back to work.
