Monomad: Thorn Mimic Treehopper

in voilk •  2 months ago

The thorn mimic treehopper—I love this insect. The treehopper's shape is so unique and a bit strange. It has thorns that are more dominant than its other organs. Sometimes I wonder, aren't those horns too heavy? Maybe not as I think; it seems to be fine with that. As proof, this treehopper moves freely wherever it wants.

Some time ago, I caught two at the same time. Could they be twins? I can't tell which is the male and which is the female. Since all thorn mimic treehoppers look the same. Maybe I would know if I caught them mating; the male would certainly be on the back of the female. Sorry, don't misunderstand! This is about common insect behavior.
