Ayer se conmemoró el Día Internacional de la Mujer, una fecha un tanto polémica que, conforme va pasando el tiempo, arrastra cada vez más comentarios, producto de lo que esta sociedad va aprendiendo.

A modo personal, no estoy de acuerdo o en contra de celebrar, porque hay mujeres que han marcado mi vida y me han enseñado lo mucho que podemos lograr. Ellas han sido inspiración para cumplir mis sueños y por ellas elevo un agradecimiento al cielo, en especial por mi mamá.

Cuando @charjaim nos propone hablar de todos esos regalos que han dejado nuestros padres, no puedo evitar pensar en mi mamá, una mujer que desde el temple y la feminidad es un referente para la mujer que soy y una dicha para la madre en que quiero convertirme.

Mi mamá es una de las más pequeñas de 8 hermanos por parte de mamá, quien toda la vida se ha labrado su camino desde el esfuerzo y la opinión consciente de que todo se puede lograr desde la actitud correcta. Desde pequeña, su brillo protector mantuvo a muchos de mi familia unidos y seguros, y de ella aprendí que la independencia va más allá de no necesitar a nadie.

Como madre, procuró brindarme un hogar que va más allá de la edificación que conocemos como casa y desde la disciplina me enseñó a ver la vida en blanco o negro (aunque yo la veo con matices ahora). Progresista y adelantada a su época, es de esas mujeres de firme criterio que se da el lujo de evolucionar y entender que equivocarse es tan humano como respirar, y progresar más que una decisión, es una necesidad.

La etiqueta feminista probablemente no es algo que mi madre quiera cargar, pero siempre la recuerdo siendo esa persona resolutiva que te dice “si otros pueden, obvio tú también”. En mi casa o somos productivos o no somos nada y supongo que esa etiqueta perseverante es lo que me mantiene de pie en cualquier situación.

Ella me heredó gran parte de mi carácter y mi temple, la firmeza de creer en mis convicciones y principios, sin olvidar que tenemos el deber de aprender cada día sobre la vida. A ella le debo ese pensamiento de no ser tan dura y entender que el amor es la respuesta a muchas de las interrogantes, y como Barbie, puedes ser lo que quieras.

Siempre que camine y vea el reflejo de mi mirada, sabré que cada momento en el que he estado con mi mamá es una oportunidad para aprender y espero ser un referente tan maravilloso para mi niño. Porque me siento la mujer más afortunada, ya que aunque no cuento con la mejor madre, tengo la que merezco y me hace feliz.

Para todos los padres, las mayores bendiciones y agradecimiento en donde quieran que estén, porque ahora que soy mamá entiendo la falta de manual y el gran compromiso de vernos crecer. Porque ahora que soy mujer, mi corazón se llena de orgullo por mi Mora, la mujer maravilla.

Yesterday was commemorated International Women's Day, a somewhat controversial date that, as time goes by, drags more and more comments, product of what this society is learning.

Personally, I am not in agreement or against celebrating, because there are women who have marked my life and have taught me how much we can achieve. They have been an inspiration to fulfill my dreams and for them I raise a thank you to heaven, especially for my mom.

When @charjaim proposes to talk about all those gifts that our parents have left, I can't help but think of my mom, a woman who from the temper and femininity is a reference for the woman I am and a joy for the mother I want to become.

My mom is one of the youngest of 8 siblings on her mother's side, who all her life has carved her path from the effort and the conscious opinion that everything can be achieved from the right attitude. From a young age, her protective glow kept many in my family united and secure, and from her I learned that independence goes beyond not needing anyone.

As a mother, she sought to provide me with a home that goes beyond the building we know as a house and from discipline she taught me to see life in black or white (although I see it with nuances now). Progressive and ahead of her time, she is one of those women with firm criteria who has the luxury of evolving and understanding that making mistakes is as human as breathing, and progressing is more than a decision, it is a necessity.

The feminist label is probably not something my mother wants to carry, but I always remember her being that resolute person who tells you “if others can, obviously you can too”. In my house we are either productive or we are nothing and I guess that persevering label is what keeps me on my feet in any situation.

She inherited much of my character and my mettle, the firmness to believe in my convictions and principles, without forgetting that we have the duty to learn every day about life. To her I owe that thought of not being so hard and understanding that love is the answer to many of the questions, and like Barbie, you can be whatever you want.

Whenever I walk and see the reflection in my eyes, I will know that every moment I have been with my mom is an opportunity to learn and hopefully be such a wonderful role model for my child. Because I feel like the luckiest woman, because even though I don't have the best mother, I have the one I deserve and she makes me happy.

To all parents, the greatest blessings and gratitude wherever you are, because now that I am a mom I understand the lack of manual and the great commitment to see us grow. Because now that I am a woman, my heart is filled with pride for my Mora, the wonder woman.
