Creating art is a journey, and today I’m thrilled to share with you my latest piece inspired by the wonderful world of @holozing. Hello to all the amazing members of the community! I’m Lorentm, a digital artist who finds joy in blending imagination and style into each drawing. For this post, I’ve created an anime-style fan art of the adorable Glimmo, reimagined as a humanized character.
Crear arte es un viaje, y hoy estoy emocionada de compartir con ustedes mi más reciente obra inspirada en el maravilloso universo de @holozing. ¡Hola a toda la increíble comunidad! Soy Lorentm, una artista digital que encuentra alegría en mezclar imaginación y estilo en cada ilustración. Para esta ocasión, decidí realizar un fan art de Glimmo al estilo anime, reinventándolo en una versión humanizada.
Glimmo is a charming little character with a shell-like body, gentle eyes, and an innocent demeanor that makes you instantly smile. Translating that essence into a humanized, anime-inspired version was both a challenge and a delight. I wanted to preserve Glimmo’s core identity while giving it a new, whimsical life that fans could connect with emotionally.
Glimmo es un pequeño y encantador personaje con un cuerpo parecido al de una tortuga, ojos dulces y una actitud inocente que te hace sonreír al instante. Traducir esa esencia a una versión humanizada e inspirada en el estilo anime fue todo un reto y también un verdadero placer. Quise conservar la esencia de Glimmo y, al mismo tiempo, darle una nueva vida mágica con la que los fans pudieran conectar emocionalmente.
In this humanized version of Glimmo, I envisioned a chibi-style child wearing a costume that mimics a baby dinosaur or a small turtle. The hoodie features Glimmo’s distinct orange head with big, expressive eyes perched on top like a hat. I gave the character short, fluffy hair with warm tones that blend with the color of the costume, reinforcing the natural look.
En esta versión humanizada de Glimmo, imaginé a una niña de estilo chibi usando un disfraz que imita a un pequeño dinosaurio o tortuga. La capucha lleva la característica cabeza anaranjada de Glimmo con grandes ojos expresivos, como si fuera un gorro. Le di al personaje un cabello corto, esponjoso y en tonos cálidos que se integran con el color del traje, reforzando el aspecto natural.
The outfit includes a padded vest with a shell-like pattern on the back, rounded spots throughout the sleeves and legs, and even claw-like shoes. I added a small tail as a playful touch, enhancing the creature-like charm. The large glowing eyes and joyful smile express the innocence and warmth that Glimmo evokes as a creature.
El atuendo incluye un chaleco acolchado con un patrón de caparazón en la parte trasera, manchas redondeadas a lo largo de las mangas y piernas, e incluso zapatos con forma de garra. Añadí una pequeña cola como un detalle juguetón que resalta el encanto de criatura mágica. Los grandes ojos brillantes y la sonrisa alegre transmiten la inocencia y calidez que Glimmo evoca como personaje.
Process / Proceso
I started with a sketch, trying to capture the energy and charm of Glimmo while imagining how it might look in human form. The goal was to find a pose that felt open and cheerful, and a silhouette that maintained the rounded, soft qualities of the original design.
Comencé con un boceto, intentando capturar la energía y el encanto de Glimmo mientras imaginaba cómo se vería en forma humana. El objetivo era encontrar una pose que transmitiera alegría y una silueta que mantuviera las cualidades redondeadas y suaves del diseño original.
Once I was happy with the structure, I moved on to the lineart. I used soft but clear lines to outline the character, giving special attention to the shape of the costume and facial features. I made sure the lines had a friendly and clean flow, matching the character’s playful vibe.
Una vez que estuve satisfecha con la estructura, pasé al delineado. Utilicé líneas suaves pero definidas para perfilar al personaje, poniendo especial atención en la forma del disfraz y los rasgos faciales. Me aseguré de que las líneas tuvieran un flujo amable y limpio, acorde al estilo juguetón del personaje.
For the coloring stage, I opted for a warm palette inspired by earthy and orange tones. These colors bring a cozy feeling that suits Glimmo’s personality. I layered the base tones with subtle gradients to enhance the softness and volume of the character.
Para el coloreado, opté por una paleta cálida inspirada en tonos tierra y naranjas. Estos colores transmiten una sensación acogedora que se adapta perfectamente a la personalidad de Glimmo. Coloqué capas con degradados sutiles para resaltar la suavidad y el volumen del personaje.
Then came the shading, where I played with lighting to give depth and a sense of form. I imagined the sun setting behind the character and let that light guide where I placed the shadows—under the chin, on the folds of the costume, and around the shell.
Luego trabajé las sombras, donde jugué con la iluminación para dar profundidad y una sensación de forma. Imaginé el sol poniéndose detrás del personaje y dejé que esa luz guiara la ubicación de las sombras: debajo del mentón, en los pliegues del disfraz y alrededor del caparazón.
The highlights were my favorite part. I used bright orange and reddish tones to create glows on the edges of the costume, hair, and face, adding a magical warmth to the entire piece. These small touches brought the illustration to life.
Los brillos fueron mi parte favorita. Usé tonos anaranjados y rojizos brillantes para crear resplandores en los bordes del disfraz, el cabello y el rostro, agregando una calidez mágica a toda la obra. Estos pequeños detalles le dieron vida a la ilustración.
Lastly, I painted the background. I imagined Glimmo standing on a grassy field under a dreamy sunset sky. The gradient sky with cotton-like clouds wraps the character in a peaceful and joyful atmosphere, completing the scene with harmony.
Por último, pinté el fondo. Imaginé a Glimmo de pie sobre un campo cubierto de pasto, bajo un cielo crepuscular de ensueño. El cielo en degradado, con nubes como de algodón, envuelve al personaje en una atmósfera de paz y alegría, completando la escena con armonía.

Bringing Glimmo to life in this style was such a fun and heartfelt experience. I felt deeply connected to the character during the process and truly enjoyed imagining how this little creature would look and feel in a more human world. I hope you all feel the same joy I felt while creating it.
Dar vida a Glimmo en este estilo fue una experiencia divertida y muy emotiva. Me sentí profundamente conectada con el personaje durante el proceso y realmente disfruté imaginar cómo se vería y sentiría esta pequeña criatura en un mundo más humano. Espero que todos sientan la misma alegría que yo sentí al crearla.

The tools I used for the drawing were the following:

- Capacitive pen (Stylus).
- Ibis Paint X program.
- Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
