Last week, while out to get foodstuff from the market, I came across some people(men and women) who went shopping. I saw some little girls in the hands of men who were older than them while others were with a guy their age. It made me question if they were truly little with things they are receiving from guys/men, and it pains me that the society that once frowned against such doesn't even care anymore.
The world is so crazy now that people are more interested in the economic crisis of the country and finding means to eat than poke their nose on things they would have before.
I know many children will be born 8 or 9 months after this month because this month is where some ladies act like Undertaker and eat anything they like, including premarital sex which can get them pregnant. They know this, but in the heat of the moment, they don't care. It is the season of love after all so love lust is all they go for.
Growing up, my mama always told me to stay off guys because I could get pregnant if they touched me, lol. Those teachings then saved many from the pit of hell on earth times without number. It is very sad seeing girls who have nothing reasonable to offer except sex going into a coitus relationship or any other sort of relationship with a man. I have a cousin who has fallen into this recently as I write this post. The outcome of the life she has chosen to live is really heartbreaking, especially knowing the life she has isn't hers anymore because of her child.
The world is not fair to anyone, no doubt! I have collected, and I am still collecting my fair share of troubles in life, even the fact that I am an independent lady. I always believe that no child should come into this world to face hardship of necessity which has to do with food, cloth and shelter. If you've gone hungry just for a day or hours, you'll understand that no child should face this.
So, bringing a child into a world where I can't take care of the child with my partner by my side is a big no for me. I believe and still hold onto it that every child deserves to grow up in a home filled with love from both sides. If children can grow like this, the world will be better. Kindness, love, and positivity will take over our world. However, following the Ladies-of-hive-community-contest by @jane1289 on the prompt;
Nowadays, premarital sex is rampant among young people. What if you got pregnant and encountered rude in-laws with a partner who is incapable of standing by himself or standing up for you? Would you rather endure their maltreatment, or walk out on your relationship, and raise your child alone? Why?
If by fate as I would call it because I can't truly see myself doing this. But if by cruel fate I find myself with a partner who can't stand up for himself or for us and I got pregnant while we were in a relationship due to premarital sex, with what I have written so far, the answer should be clear.
I will never in any circumstances raise my child in a home where there isn't love. A home where my inlaws see me as a leech and talk to me disrespectfully. Firstly, I'll have a chat that deals with communication and comprehension with the father of my child. If after talking to him and he still behaves like a wimp, then the best thing to do is to leave the home and raise my child alone with all the love, attention and any other necessary thing I can offer.
Living in an environment that is peaceful is what a child needs, not a harsh one, and I'll do everything in my power to make sure the child lives well. I know it won't be an easy ride. Baby stuff is very expensive now, buying clothes, shoes and all. Before you know it, school fees will come, but I'll strive and do all that is needed for a good relationship with my child, while provision and protection are also paramount.
