Good day my fellow Hivers, welcome to my blog. I carried out my cleaning in an uncompleted building adjacent to my house. The narrow footpath beside the building has been littered by passers-by, I picked up these wastes and packed them into a garbage bag for proper disposal. The rainy season is here and we must avoid the indiscriminate dumping of refuse to prevent flooding.
This act not only poses health and environmental risks, but it can also lead to the blocking of drainage systems, which in turn heightens flooding. When waste is improperly disposed of, it can collect and clog drainage pipes and channels, obstructing the flow of water during heavy rainfall. This can result in flash floods, causing damage to infrastructure, property, and even loss of life.
Despite the negative outcomes, people are not paying enough attention to careless waste disposal. This may be because of reasons like not knowing enough about it, not having good enough waste management systems, or not enforcing waste disposal rules enough. We all need to understand how crucial it is to dispose of waste properly and take action to stop careless dumping.
To tackle the problem of careless waste disposal, we can take steps such as enforcing stricter waste management rules, educating the public about the benefits of responsible waste disposal, improving waste collection and treatment facilities, and imposing penalties on those who litter. These actions will not only help prevent damage to drainage systems and reduce flooding but also create a cleaner and healthier environment for everyone, including our present and future generation. .
These pictures show how I carried out my cleaning for the day.
