Play and earn certainly isn't dead. And as the bull market continues (despite a few corrections along the way), web3 development studios rush to release their tokens, often with special promotional events that provide opportunities for their fans to earn some airdropped tokens!
In all of these cases, participants earn points (though terminology may vary), which will translate into a share of the airdrop -- usually, a percentage based on individual contribution vs the number of points generated by everyone.
Here are a few web3 gaming titles that fall into this category, and a little information about how you can join to snag a share of the airdrop!
Qorpo World
Qorpo World is best known for their team-based FPS, Citizen Conflict, which just had a limited launch of version 5.0 of their beta the other day. But they are also building a Pokemon style game called Aneemates, and want to develop an all-encompassing ecosystem for their games.
As part of this goal, they have already released their own token, QORPO, which can be found on the Binance Chain network. They are holding a several month long promotion for token airdrops.
Getting to the top of the leaderboards requires owning Qorpo World NFTs (from the Aneemates and Citizen Zero collections) and spending money on daily lootboxes. The lootboxes are relatively cheap, but buying and opening them every day can quickly add up with transaction costs on top of the box prices. Fortunately, there are other ways to earn points such as logging in daily, and connecting social accounts.
Token rewards are calculated at the end of every month, with tokens vested over a four month period. Players will need to manually claim their tokens, but then they are free to sell, trade, or stake them as they see fit.

Worldshards
Worldshards is an instanced-based MMO with custom, home bases designed and constructed by the players. The game is currently in an early access playtest for landowners and key holders. MetalCore
MetalCore is also running a playtest with rewards for players. But in addition, the MetalCore missions on DeQuest offer earning opportunities for social engagements as well as by playing the game. Earn Marks which in turn will lead to MCG tokens.
MetalCore is a team-based, sci-fi FPS, with some inspiration taken from the old Planetside games. Their next beta phase is scheduled to open on May 1st.
