Como un espejo distorsionado de nuestro tiempo, este anime nos ofrece una perspectiva cautivadora de los desafíos morales que enfrentamos, al igual que resalta varios paralelismos entre ambas realidades, porque no solo te sumerge en una distopía fascinante, sino que también te desafía a reflexionar sobre las complejidades del día a día que generalmente todos vivimos. Es por eso que hoy quiero introducirte a este viaje:

Well, it's no secret that during and after the pandemic "technology" (mostly in the pharmaceutical industry) became a lifesaver... And equally, it continues to be an omnipresent watchdog of our daily lives (almost like the all-seeing eye).

Imagina despertarte de tu cama y tener que vivir en un mundo donde la tecnología crea tus oportunidades a través de una inteligencia que no es humana, pero tiene el poder de analizar tu estado mental para determinar tu aptitud dentro de la sociedad, ¿se te hace familiar?...
Pues no es un secreto que durante y después de la pandemia “la tecnología” (más que todo en la industria farmacéutica) se volvió un salvavidas… E igualmente, sigue siendo un vigilante omnipresente de nuestro día a día (casi como el ojo que todo lo ve).

Like Akane Tsunemori (its protagonist), the characters constantly struggle with their inner demons, while living in a world that constantly watches and evaluates them. For this reason, learning to develop inner strength (which we could also call self-esteem), becomes an invaluable resource in an environment where emotional stability is an indispensable prerequisite for existence and personal success.

Y es justamente aquí donde Psycho-Pass lega para hacerte vivir una experiencia transformadora, pero al mismo tiempo hacerte sentir una especie de advertencia turbia y reflexiva sobre las decisiones que podríamos estar tomando como sociedad. Haciéndonos ver que la brecha que separa el cuidado y el control social es tan mínima que se vuelve casi borrosa. Igualmente, esta brecha resonará con las ambigüedades morales a las que constantemente tendremos que ver y muchas confrontar con nuestras propias decisiones…
Convirtiendo así a la salud mental en el tema central de este anime. Al igual que Akane Tsunemori (su protagonista), los personajes luchan constantemente con sus demonios internos, mientras viven en ese mundo que constantemente los vigila y evalúa. Por esta razón, aprender a desarrollar fortaleza interior (que también podríamos llamar autoestima), se convierte en un recurso invaluable dentro de un entorno donde la estabilidad emocional es un requisito previo indispensable para la existencia y el éxito personal.

So far so futuristic and entertaining, but how can you maintain your sanity in a world that pressures you incessantly? Well, by connecting hearts (since not all the plot of this anime is darkness or danger hahah).
That's why for me Psycho-Pass came to show us the value of human connections because no matter what "technology rules" the bonds that are created and maintained during its plot will be forged of adversities to remind us that we must keep our connections as authentic as possible in a reality that becomes more and more digital...
And while these complexities in human relationships are at the heart of this anime, it reveals many nuances that will "match our own lives" (for many swing between being a lifesaver, a death trap or a great disappointment), thus challenging us to evaluate our current relationships in order to seek to understand why we form them.

Hasta aquí todo muy futurista y entretenido, pero ¿cómo se puede mantener la cordura en un mundo que te presiona sin cesar? Pues conectando corazones (ya que no toda la trama de este anime es oscuridad o peligro jaj).
Es por eso que para mí Psycho-Pass llegó para mostrarnos el valor de las conexiones humanas porque in importar que “la tecnología gobierne” los lazos que se crean y mantienen durante su trama estarán forjados de adversidades para recordarnos que debemos mantener nuestras conexiones lo más auténticas posibles en una realidad que se vuelve cada vez más y más digital…
Y aunque esas complejidades en las relaciones humanas formen parte del corazón de este anime, en ella se revelan muchos matices que “harán match con nuestras propias vidas” (porque muchas se balancean entre ser un salvavidas, una trampa mortal o una gran decepción), desafiándonos así a evaluar nuestras relaciones actuales para así buscar comprender por qué las formamos.

And although its plot advances like a roller coaster of emotions, it will confront you with a totally unknown reality where the duality of life (good and evil) will constantly fade, to also make you reflect, how can justice be defined in a reality where scenarios are distorted and alter our perception of what is ethical and wrong?
For me this anime is a true animated work of art that conveys more than a unique experience to challenge us to question the reality we live in on a daily basis. Making us examine what motivates us and equally the true meaning of the word "freedom" when both realities are governed by "non-human" control.

Y aunque su trama avance como un rollacoaster de emociones, te confrontará a una realidad totalmente desconocida donde la dualidad de la vida (el bien y el mal) se desvanecerán constantemente, para también hacerte reflexionar, ¿cómo se puede definir la justicia en una realidad donde los escenarios se distorsionan y alteran nuestra percepción de lo ético e incorrecto?
Para mí este anime es una verdadera obra de arte animada que transmite más que una experiencia única para desafiarnos a cuestionar la realidad que vivimos diariamente. Haciendo que examinemos lo que nos motiva e igualmente el verdadero significado de la palabra “libertad”, cuando ambas realidades están regidas por el control “no humano”.
