Time for another nice hike around Lynx Lake and some of the surrounding trails as the weather continues to be mild and the snow is melting nicely. Now just more rain in the forecast.
It was mild enough for just a light shirt for my morning walk and Lulu was happy to trot along with only a few stops to pee.
Lynx Lake had a decent crowd (probably because it was a Monday holiday) so we had a fair amount of company as we headed out onto the dirt trail.
The trail was still muddy where the snow had melted although there was still lingering patches of snow in the shaded alcoves, but the footing was fine.
Once at the Southside area we took a side trail into the forest to add on a couple of miles to the hike.
Here we were alone in the mostly quiet forest on a winding but fairly easy trail. It passed through the campground (now closed for the winter) before turning back around and rejoining the road down to the southern parking area.
From here it was the easy return leg along the paved path back to the car and the end of a good long walk.
Tomorrow we'll see if the weather is OK for a trip to the creek.
