HELLO to all Splinterlands readers of my humble blog.๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป Welcome to yet another week of the "new" iteration of the Splinterlands Weekly Challenges ๐Ÿ˜œ. The "old" Battle Challenges are now a thing of the past (at least for now?) and they have been replaced with the "Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Support Articles, Scholarship Best Practices".

For any old Hivers/Splinterland players who've just come back and are confused, fret not! Even with the name and format tweaks, right at it's core, battles are still the foundation of these posts.

In this week's edition of my Support Articles, Scholarship Best Practices, I will do something drastically different from my usual battle showcases. Instead of war, I will become a peaceful teacher showing all new players how to most effectively navigate the topic of scholarships. It might sound hard, but it is actually far easier than it seems. With some help, even a brand new player or a veteran with more cards than he/she knows to do with, can easily maximise their returns thanks to some tips on Scholarships in the game! ๐Ÿ˜œ

No matter! I present to you โ€” Scholarship Best Practices.

So without further ado, let me introduce how best to navigate this seemingly impossible task to you! ๐ŸŽ‰

Scholarships have become a game-changer in Splinterlands, opening doors for new players to explore the game without a big upfront investment. Whether you're a manager offering cards or a scholar building experience and income, scholarships can be a win-win setupโ€”if done right. Hereโ€™s a guide to the doโ€™s and donโ€™ts for both managers and scholars to keep things smooth, fair, and rewarding on both sides.

With all that being said, here is how I would advice ALL players on how you should start on your journey to becoming a master Manager or Scholar!

For Managers: Building a Trustworthy, Productive Environment

    • Do Set Clear Terms and Expectations

      • Define roles: Outline what you expect from scholars in terms of battles, daily quests, and participation.
      • Payment terms: Specify how earnings will be split and how often payments will be made.
      • Gameplay guidelines: Clarify any rules, such as preferred cards or strategies for battles.
    • Donโ€™t Neglect Communication

      • Keep in touch regularly: Check in to track performance, offer advice, and keep morale high.
      • Be approachable: Create an environment where scholars feel comfortable discussing issues.
    • Do Provide Useful Resources

      • Offer tips and strategies: Help scholars maximize their performance and earnings.
      • Share resources: Send guides, videos, or recommended decks to get them up to speed quickly.
    • Donโ€™t Micro-Manage

      • Allow freedom within guidelines: While you can guide strategy, let scholars make gameplay decisions.
      • Avoid pressuring for unrealistic quotas: Remember that scholars are players too, not just points generators.
    • Do Protect Your Assets

      • Monitor performance: Track win rates, daily contributions, and account activity.
      • Use agreements: Draft a simple digital agreement outlining responsibilities, limits, and consequences of rule-breaking.

For Scholars: Being a Responsible and Committed Player

    • Do Communicate Regularly

      • Check-in: Send updates, ask questions, and clarify any uncertainties.
      • Report issues promptly: If something goes wrong in-game, let your manager know.
    • Donโ€™t Violate Game Terms

      • Avoid cheating or using bots: This can jeopardize the account and the entire scholarship setup.
      • Respect the manager's assets: Play fair, follow game guidelines, and avoid risky gameplay.
    • Do Follow the Set Goals and Guidelines

      • Adhere to play strategies: If a manager has specific deck or team guidelines, do your best to follow them.
      • Prioritize agreed-upon objectives: Whether itโ€™s daily quests, rank goals, or win streaks, stay focused on them.
    • Donโ€™t Miss Deadlines or Daily Tasks

      • Stay consistent: Log in daily or as often as required to keep up with the tasks.
      • Avoid gaps without notice: If you need to step away, inform your manager in advance.
    • Do Strive to Improve

      • Seek feedback: Ask your manager for input to enhance your gameplay.
      • Invest time in learning: Watch tutorials or read guides to better understand the Splinterlands meta.

    Conclusion

Scholarships in Splinterlands offer fantastic benefits, but they require mutual respect, clear communication, and dedication. For managers, clear guidelines and open communication are essential. For scholars, being responsible, communicative, and focused goes a long way. With these doโ€™s and donโ€™ts, both sides can create a rewarding partnership and enjoy the best of what Splinterlands scholarships have to offer!

I definitely can appreciate Scholarships and how it changes the dynamics of usual gameplay. This is one of those situations which can be turned into a huge advantage if surrounded with the proper strategies. The role it brings to the battlefield will give a player the edge in squeezing out every tiny advantage to get the win. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

I hope this article has given you some insight into its potential. ๐Ÿ˜‰
