Needleworkmonday: Review of my Big Day 🧶

    Hey guys! 👋
I hope you guys are doing really well!🌷

For the past few weeks I have been through a lot, so could not made this review earlier.

In my previous post I described all my final preparations. There was a girl I met in a art competition, we I didn't knew but we already followed eachother on Instagram. We decided to participate in exhibition together. In the end days when I contacted her, she told me that she had to attend some other event where almost all her items got sold. So she wasn't able to join me. O my God, I got sudden panicky attack, that what I'm gonna do. I really very nervous. But my mother, she motivated me that I can do it alone. So yeah I took the decision to tackle it on my own.

I had literally planned each and everything. I had been thinking all the time about what I'm gonna wear, as I practice hijab and usually wear burqa. I searched through my cupboard and found my long lost burqa that I just wore once or twice and had completely forgot about it. Out of routine, I also did a little bit of makeup, it was to be covered any how but offcourse it was for me. And guess what I don't have any single picture of me😭.

I actually got my eyes swollen, and dark circles begin to appear as in those days we were also working on our research assignments too.

It was on Wednesday, 22nd May, I reached university by 8am as everything had to start by 10am, so we had to get early to set everything up. Upon reaching venue I noticed these, and found out that theme was set to be Movie night.
Allthese décor was there for it.

That girl could not join me in stall, but she did came and helped me arranging everything up. After a lot redoings I settled for this.

Now I was sat down started waiting for my buddies to arrive. Mean while a girl came and she was in a awe seeing stuff, she had the best reaction of the day. She immediately bought this bear.
She this bear was my first sale.

There were some people asking for the these watercolour paintings, but really I could not price them, and refuses to sell them. I really enjoyed the most when everyone would ask, "Are these prints?". Oh this compliment flattered me the most🙈. Every I would say no, they would have a closer look to see themselves!

Initially we could not sell much, but we knew our target audience was had not awaken yet. You know hostelites never get up early😂 and half of our university was sleeping till then. 1pm to 3pm were the peak hours. I almost sold more than 2/3rd of items in that time.
It was also really hot that day, so I ended it before an hour.

To support other sellers, I bought this beautiful handmade resin pendant. I really loved it, and you know when something's handmade it has a unique charm. And I also bought a notepad, it was really cute, but don't have it's picture right now.

These were some artworks of other creative people of our university.

The items that were left were sold afterwards , and I also got some crochet orders. This was literally a revolutionary step for me, and I'm really very thankful to many people for their motivation and support.
My parents, my friends @ayesha-rahim and @rabail-khan who were with me all day, also to @hamza-khan who bought us food😂 and thanks to @dlmmqb who sparked this urge to take the initiative. I'm really very grateful to all🌷.

Okay that was today's story about my biggest step in needle work. I would be sharing the processes and the stories about the new crochet items.

    Till then take care 🌸
    Bye bye 👋🌼🌹
