Each week, the LMAC Community run by @shaka holds a collage contest round for its members to participate. In the Community, you'll discover a variety of themed contest entries submitted for consideration in the contest. Hopefuls anxiously await result indicating where their creative collage scenes will be chosen for the final round of competition. If you'd like to participate, just visit the LMAC Community account here for details on the latest contest.

The LMAC Community also offers an opportunity for members to create "freestyle" collage themes and post to the Community. In the freestyle option, you have more freedom to design your creations without having to incorporate the weekly contest photo. You still, however, have rules in which you must abide by when posting to the Community.

For my Freestyle Collage No. 83, my theme is providing aid in a time of need.

More often than not, individuals help others in need. This act of generosity comes about due to societal norms that dictate humans act out of a sense of sympathy or empathy. Some heed the call; while others take note, but back away out of precaution.

The world has changed in terms of individuals rushing forth to assist others. Danger to one's self is a primary cause. This danger is due to increased crime.

Another reason perhaps is out of an abundance of caution. The "do no harm" code for strangers who stop to assist others is a real fear. It's called the Good Samaritan Act. You can't leave a person you voluntarily stop to render aid in a worse condition caused by your actions.

When I first heard of this, I thought the law was preposterous. However, rules of law are put into place for reasons I fail to understand.

In preparing my theme, discovered a lovely photo of a female in the shadows of the night with a ball in her hand. I imagined that she sat pondering a choice. I gave her a reason.

In her meditation, a stir in the brush at first frightens her. Peering behind some small rocks she discovers a man suffering from severe wounds. She doesn't hesitate as she's been taught by her elders. She pulls out her magic sphere with the ability to cure. Instantly a dove appears. Its tears drop relief onto a nearby tree.

As the man realizes help is near, he opens up knowing the woman is there to help and nor harm. He opens up to receive the nourishing water as it springs from the tree.

When compiling my freestyle collage design, I upload my images to Canva. This program is my design portal I use to blend my images. One important feature I use in my designs are the numerous sophisticated background images available to upgraded members. I love working with the abstract backgrounds.

Below are the procedures I use that incorporate the tools at my disposal in my Annual Pro Membership Subscription.

To a blank canvas, I added the female image sitting on a branch in the sunset.

Added the peach Canva background. Notice the peach fruit's shape.

The slope in the peach fruit served as a perfect slot for the serious face to be placed, so I added it, repositioned and resized the image.

Added the Ficus tree image, my fractal bush images, and the eye in the center of the ball in the woman's hand.

Added the dove to the ball, then the water drops dripping from its beak. Next, added the butterflies and fish. Positioned and resized them. This completed my collage.
