Just like we often say time flies, it's the same thing as this holiday season. From enjoying the Christmas break to getting to the new year, that's a sign that the break is coming to an end. Knowing I started my holiday late, I find myself thinking about how soon my holiday will end, and that means automatic work resumption.
For me, the holiday is not a long one at all. Resumption has been officially announced, which is 6th January. Meaning I have to pause my rest and resume work at my Primary Place of Assignment (PPA). Getting ready for the new year resumption is bitter, but I must do something for myself. Though the few weeks I have had to rest and reconnect with family and loved ones were wholesome, I still wish it continued.
There is nothing I enjoyed more than knowing I could sleep till anytime without having to jump up early to avoid getting late to work.As much as I love the holiday to continue, getting back to work is what makes me productive. I know work has its way of customizing us, from waking up early to our dress code and delivering our job description.
Regardless of how tiring that can make me feel sometimes, it's a responsibility that gives me a defined purpose. While I can't say I'm not looking forward to the end of the holiday and, at the same time, looking for the end of it. I will just say I need both. The relaxation the holiday gives, no meeting deadlines, and enough time to be with loved ones.
Though all these are important for well-being, there is still a need to get back to work. It makes me feel accomplished when I carry out my work effectively. Both are important as far as balance is concerned. Holiday is the play we need in an organization. It's a period workers have to relax and refill their energy for what awaits at work.
If the holiday continues, I will definitely one day anticipate an end to it and want to resume work. While my holiday ends in the first week of January, I'm grateful for the holiday that gave me time to have quality time with my loved ones and also for the fresh time to start all over again with new purpose and new goals.
I'm very much grateful for this holiday, the memories it came with, the lessons, and the overall new beginning. Though I know I will be leaving behind the holiday vibes, I'm still grateful for all the memories that came with the holiday.
After all, every ending is a chance for a new beginning. While I will be saying goodbye to the holiday vibes, I'm with open arms welcoming the new year with strong optimism and purpose. I can't wait to read others’ articles on when their holiday ends and how they feel about it. For me, the answer is just simple: it's quite short, but the memories can't be forgotten.
