Hello!
It is the first time joining this photography contest. Here is my contribution to this new round dedicated to water.
I live in a city bathed by the sea. In fact, I live on an island. Living surrounded by the sea gives me, even without wanting it, a very peculiar relationship with it. It is part of me, it is in my body...I breathe it.
Havana smells like the sea. The saltpeter mixed with the old smell of its buildings, with the air full of bad combustion of its old american cars (almendrones) and cars manufactured in the disappeared Soviet Union, is unique. It's an odour called Havana.
As soon as I go away for a few days, my sense of smell, adapted to that peculiar mixture, does not perceive it, does not find it, misses it. Some people in other lands also say they miss it.
And this city has the cure for stress. It has the channel to get rid of our worries, aches, pains, sorrows...we just throw them into the water, into the sea...which heals everything.

Vivo en una ciudad bañada por el mar. De hecho, vivo en una isla. Vivir rodeada de mar me da, aún sin quererlo, una relación muy peculiar con él. Es parte de mí, está en mi cuerpo...lo respiro.
La Habana huele a mar. El salitre mezclado con el olor añejo de sus edificios, con el aire lleno de mala combustión de sus viejos autos americanos (almendrones) y autos fabricados en la desaparecida Unión Soviética, es único. Es...olor Habana.
En cuanto me alejo unos días, mi olfato, adaptado a esa mezcla peculiar, no lo percibe, no lo encuentra, lo extraña. También algunos que están en otras tierras dicen extrañarlo.
Y es que esta ciudad, tiene la cura para el estrés. Tiene el canal para tirar fuera nuestras preocupaciones, malestares, dolores, tristezas....solo las echamos al agua, al mar...que sana todo.
