Marzo es el mes de mi papá, ya que cumpleaños y la mayoría de sus hijos nos reunimos para celebrarlo, digo la mayoría ya que algunos de ellos están en otros países.
En esta oportunidad hicimos algo un tanto diferente, para aprovechar varias cosas juntas, celebrar el cumpleaños de mi papá, pasar en familia e ir juntos a la playa. En mi caso particular me parecía una idea genial, ya que estamos también en vacaciones escolares y no había podido llevar a los niños a ningún lado. Así que todos nos juntamos en esta aventura y alquilamos un pequeño bus para ir juntos, como hacemos en los viajes familiares.

March is my dad's month, as he has a birthday and most of his children get together to celebrate it, I say most of them as some of them are in other countries.
This time we did something a bit different, to take advantage of several things together, celebrate my dad's birthday, spend it as a family and go to the beach together. In my particular case it seemed like a great idea, as we are also on school holidays and I hadn't been able to take the kids anywhere. So we all got together on this adventure and hired a small bus to go together, as we do on family trips.
En lo particular me gusta una playa llamada los Frailers, es una especie de parque Nacional, pero queda muy lejos y por lo tanto el viaje sería más costoso, así que uno de mis hermanos mayores tuvo la idea de llevarnos a una playa de San Clemente, llamada Baño Bikini, está sería la primera vez que mi familia y yo íbamos a esta playa. Realmente es muy bonita y a mí me gusta el mar, debo también mencionar que en Ecuador no hay como tal un mar, como en Venezuela que sus playas son del Mar Caribe, si no que directamente está el Océano Pacífico.
Ese día había remolinos, justo uno frente al lugar donde escogimos ubicarnos, así que teníamos que caminar hacia la izquierda para ir a otro lugar de la playa con los niños. Ammy fue la que más disfrutó, algunos adultos solo nos dimos unos cuantos chapuzones, ya que estaba peligroso, porque el mar nos quería llevar hacia dentro, incluso hubo un percance con unos adolescentes que las olas se los estaban llevando y tuvieron que rescatarlos.

I particularly like a beach called Los Frailers, it is a kind of national park, but it is very far away and therefore the trip would be more expensive, so one of my older brothers had the idea of taking us to a beach in San Clemente, called Baño Bikini, this would be the first time that my family and I went to this beach. It is really very beautiful and I like the sea, I should also mention that in Ecuador there is no sea as such, as in Venezuela where the beaches are in the Caribbean Sea, but directly in the Pacific Ocean.
That day there were whirlpools, just in front of the place where we chose to be, so we had to walk to the left to go to another part of the beach with the children. Ammy was the one who enjoyed the most, some of us adults only took a few dips, as it was dangerous, because the sea wanted to take us in, there was even a mishap with some teenagers who were being carried away by the waves and had to be rescued.

A pesar de todo, la pasamos muy bien, Ammy disfrutó mucho del mar, Amelie nunca quiso entrar al agua, creemos que sentía que estaba peligroso, por su condición de autista y Joaquín jugó bastante haciendo castillos y formas con la arena. Celebramos al cumpleañero al medio día, antes de irnos a almorzar a San Vicente, otra playa cercana y volvimos para solo ver parte del atardecer, ya que no pudimos quedarnos más tiempo para verlo por completo.
Mi papá es feliz solo de ver a su familia junta, ya que nuestra familia por cuestiones de fronteras ha tenido que vivir por años distante, así que a él no le importa mucho el dónde y cómo, mientras nos tenga reunidos y más si es para celebrarlo.

In spite of everything, we had a great time, Ammy enjoyed the sea a lot, Amelie never wanted to go in the water, we think she felt it was dangerous, because of her autistic condition and Joaquin played a lot making castles and shapes with the sand. We celebrated the birthday boy at midday, before going to have lunch at San Vicente, another nearby beach, and came back to see only part of the sunset, as we couldn't stay longer to see the whole thing.
My dad is happy just to see his family together, as our family has had to live far apart for years due to border issues, so he doesn't care much about where and how, as long as he has us together, and even more so if it is to celebrate.
