In Splinterlands there isn't a passing day when not to learn anything. And by paying attention to Splinterbites, I just found out that there is even a Shard Holder title in the game which comes with some additional perks. What are those you might ask? Well, I don't know yet as I don't have the Shard Holder title nor do I met the criteria for it. But what is it? Well, the Shard Holder is an honorary Discord role that gives you permission to post in the #shard-holders channel. To become a Shard Holder, you need to own at least 250,000 Splintershards (SPS). Also you need to make sure that you've registered your Splinterlands account in the Discord server's #registration channel, too!
Shard Holder
Shard Holder sounds pretty cool and having 250,000 Splintershards staked surely is a great achievement. Not only that it would provide a great passive revenue stream through that, but it would entitle you also for some sweet rewards from the battles considering that up until a specific amount the staked SPS provides a yield boost. While I got this information from the Splinterlands in the same time I was reading the latest Splinterlands post about Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge where some hints were thrown to help guide the participants. And one point that capture my attention from all of the questions was: What are your goals for the new year? Are you looking to improve your gameplay, expand your card collection, or connect with other players?
My goal for 2025
In the given context I have decided to make becoming a Shard Holder my goal for 2025. Is that doable? Well, we'll need to do some math to be able to answer to that, but let's see. My current staking stands at 145k SPS. This means that in order to be a Shard Holder which assumes to have 250k SPS staked, I need about 105k SPS more. That seems a stretch in my goals, but I still want to try to achieve it.
SPS Staking passive revenue
The first revenue stream that I am basing my strategy upon is that I will be earn passively just from staking SPS. As I will stake more and more, that yield should increase as well. With a SPS staking APR standing at ~10%, that would translate in another 14.5k SPS just from this. Let's round it up to 15k SPS and after substracting that from the 105k SPS needed, will leave me with just 90k SPS. This feel better, right?
SPS Battle rewards
Another revenue stream of SPS is to continue to battle frequently and earn as much SPS as I can. Having useless Glint rewarded doesn't help my cause, but getting SPS for each won battle will surely help. On this one I don't even know how much to estimate, but I would just say 10k SPS. Substracting this from the total will leave me with 80k SPS remaining. But from this point on things become harder as I don't know other significant sources to get my hands on more SPS. Just need to dig deeper and I think we might find others.
SPS Delegation renting
Unfortunately the SPS Delegation market is standing a very low levels with just 3.5% APR for delegating SPS. That doesn't move much the needed, but it is another revenue stream that I need to evaluate.
SPS earnings from Land harvesting
I just remembers that I also have some land and even a keep that I am using to harvest SPS as well. I should be getting few thousand SPS from that as well, even if not enough to get me excited.
And I think I am a little bit stuck at this point as I don't know what other SPS sources to dive into. I hope some ideas will come as I move forward and that I will be able to get closer to my goal of becoming a Shard Holder. I realize it will not be easy, I might get far away from my goal, but nevertheless I will try it. If you have other ideas on how I could harvest SPS that would be great.
