Do you like attending parties like balls? I personally am not too fond of social gatherings, but it's not that I despise them. I am just ain't the best social butterfly š¦ you'll get to find.
I know you've been to prom once or twice, or if you have not then maybe you've heard about it. Yeah, it's those social parties schools have. I've been on it twice in high school: one as a junior and one as a senior. And will attend another one soon; our upcoming Grad Ball.
But before that, I recently attended one. Not as a student, but as a student teacher. If you do not know, I am currently doing my teaching internship, and we were invited to be there for the students' grand ball.
And guess what made me so excited about it š. Well, it's the theme, " A Night in Versailles." We are expected to dress like we were someone from the Victorian era attending royal balls; a Duchess, a Baroness, or as a Princess maybe? And did you know that actual balls in the Palace of Versailles still exist in real life up until today in Paris. Yeah, it does! Amazing, isn't it? And now that I've heard about it, I would dream to attend one.
And as someone who grew up and loved watching Barbie and Disney movies, it is obvious that to be a princess has been a dream of mine for once. And what clothing accessories would perfectly make me live that dream aside from wearing a crown? It's a corset! Yeah, a gorgeous literally breath-taking corset haha. Therefore, I bought one online!
And since I have a dress with green on it in my wardrobe, I decided to get a green corset with these lovely details imprinted on it to perfectly match with my dress.
The day of the ball had come and you can easily tell who among our friend group are a fan of the classic Barbie and Disney princesses.
We're literally living our dreams at the moment haha. Right after doing our duties as part of the faculty teaching staff. We sneaked a little bit and took photos.
And I'll never be able to have such beautiful photos of myself without the help of my dear friend, Jo. I just love capturing photos of myself like this. It allows me to romanticize life for a while.
Despite how awkward I am in front of the camera, the photos turned out great. And I am obsessed with how pretty these are!
After taking thousands of photos, we went on to celebrate and enjoy the night watching the kids enjoy their ball. And I realized, how much I prefer to be one of the bystanders haha.
We watched and listened to the performances. Had our scrumptious meal with a music on the side. And of course, we also had a little performance, us student teachers. We danced to Aurora's song "Runaway."
It was a lovely night to remember -- filled with nostalgia and a dream-like atmosphere. However, if Cinderella had to go home at the stroke of midnight, our ball had to end around nine in the evening. One by one the students left the hall and the time for us to go home had come as well. Just as how the Fairy Godmother's wonders on Cinderella disappeared, my gown changed into my sweat pants and my shoes into my flats, and in a snap we were all ready to hit the road home separately.
