This is a story that really makes me happy. Maybe, for some people this seems very strange, too ordinary, but, this is something that is enough to make me really see the world of foodies very differently. Let me tell you.
Its my first experience, quite interesting because this is a restaurant that is quite popular among upper class people. A pretty fancy restaurant in the capital, but not an overly expensive one like that. No, this is a restaurant that really caught my attention because it has a lot of interesting food on the menu. Not traditional Indonesian food, in fact this is a restaurant that provides typical French food.
Previously, I knew this Monseur Spoons restaurant from the hype on social media, because it provided a pastiserie menu that was enough to make a whole country excited. Have you ever heard of cromboloni? Well, that's what makes him very famous today. Even though this restaurant used to be in Bali, it became quite famous and created several other restaurants in the capital.
It offers quite a varied menu so that in the end I was confused about which one to choose, even though at first I wanted to try the cromboloni which had previously gone viral. In fact, in the end I didn't choose the cromboloni here. Ending with several savory food choices and ending with something sweet.
This is what I will discuss, the menu I chose when I was at Monsieur Spoon. I chose truffle pasta, it made me really curious about what the truffle tasted like. Why? Because in my city there are no truffles, it is very expensive and may be different from the taste of real truffles.
We know that truffles are a type of mushroom that is quite expensive, but they are often served in several restaurants that serve pasta. So, it was quite a long way from Medan to the city of Jakarta, I had to try it.
All my food came, here I ordered a plate of Black truffle penne, chicken mushroom gnocchi and also a mushroom sandwich. This makes me even more curious about the world of foodies. It was really amazing with their menu which really made me very curious about the food which all suited my taste buds.
This is what I'm most interested in, Black truffle penne which seems very simple, like looking at penne carbonara in general, however, on top it looks like it's toasted and a little burnt. It's a sprinkle of grated truffle and that makes my taste buds love it even more. The first bite was what made me say 'this food is driving me crazy'.
There are 2 slices of bread and you can dip them into the remaining sauce on the plate. The more I bite, the more I fall in love. This really is the perfect meal. Why can people make delicious food like this? I tried some of the other dishes I ordered, they really weren't as good as the black truffle penne. How much it makes me fall in love. But, I actually thought, there was the same aroma as truffles and it was a little familiar. Like jengkol which has a similar aroma. Both are equally delicious.
The second most delicious is the chicken mushroom gnocchi. This is quite good food but not as good as the first one. But, the texture of this gnocchi is really very soft, when you bite into it it really melts and the taste is also delicious. Maybe because I tried black truffle penne so the taste of the gnocchi was obscured, I should have eaten both at different times. So, I can feel fair to judge.
