I better see a bunch of PIMP slaps on this post nam sayin.
Hell icy I hope it didn't make your device freeze 🤣
Anyway enough talking trash, lets get into it!
In this post I share my first gemstone setting and also talk a little about moissanite.
If you have been folowing the blog you probably already seen me talking about moissanite before, it's superior to diamonds in almost every single way it only slighly lags behind diamonds in hardness but still a very hard gemstone.
I actually purchased this blank for this nice little gold coin but it didn't fit I tried but started to bend the coin so I stopped and it happen to fit a big moissanite stone I had
Higher briliance and fire than diamnods look at this 7 carat stone dance!
It passes the cheap diamond tester
I set it into a cheap ring blank I got from Ali express, it's labaled as 925 (sterling silver) but it was not sold as such and only cost me about 5 dollars, the side stones are probably zircon and don't pass my diamond tester.
I was able to set it farily easily just bending the prongs while using some sticky tack to keep it from moving, it came out great but as you notice this big stone is sticking out abit and ends up slighly pushing on your finger.
You get what you pay for as you can see there is bits of metal left over from it's manufacturing.
Right below you see me testing another ring this ring was sold and labales as 950 platinum and 2 carat dimaond, it cost 150 bucks way to cheap to be legit in anyway but I figure I try it out, I thought at least they will throw in some moissanite but nope can't pass the tester, the density didn't add up either and when I took it into the shop it got a strange reading on the XRF machine 97% silver and 3% antimony never heard about this elemnet and it didn't really help much with brining up the density so not sure why they alloyed the silver with it.
I got my money back and got to keep the ring at least its silver I guess.
And here I got a cheap indusrial diamond it's not very nice and is made to be used as a tool but I got it so I can have a control against moissanite
