Hi all!
Welcome back to my running blog! Here I post my journey towards the NN Marathon Rotterdam 2025!
With 3.5 week to go I am nearing the end of my peak weeks in my training schedule - before my recovery phase starts. But we are not there yet! This week I plan to do 90 km - with today’s 21km run I completed 50km sofar - 40 km to go!
After experiencing some difficulties yesterday with a recovery run - I told myself to replace today’s scheduled tempo run with another recovery run as my legs start to feel heavy (& tired) but.. today I decided to double down and embrace the tiredness and try to just ignore it (which is a feeling that will definitly pop up during the actual marathon aswell - so better just train it) - I went for the planned tempo run and adjusted it to a new route in the forest and with some small hills to just push my boundries further (don’t do this at the start of a schedule!)
As expected it was a heavy run, but I also had a great time and was able to get myself together and finish it.
Injuries:
So far nothing major , but the hot sports I experienced from my new shoes turned into blisters today (heel & under toe) - which is exactly what I feared when buying new shoes this late in the schedule. Bright sight is that the blisters are still closed - if I be carefull I should be able to have that healed during my taper weeks!
Should be all good ! =D
Happy running!
