Are you a Promise Keeper?

Let’s talk about promises. A lot of people make promises only when it’s convenient for them, like when they’re trying to get out of a tough spot or when it benefits them somehow. But here’s the thing: promises shouldn’t be about escaping trouble or saying what people want to hear. They should be about committing to something you truly intend to do.

Think about it. When you make a promise, you’re saying, “I’m going to do this.” It’s not just word, it’s a commitment. But too often, people make promises without really thinking about how they’ll follow through. Take politicians, for example. They make big promises during elections, but once they’re in power, those promises often fade away. We’ve all seen projects or plans that sound amazing but never actually happen. It’s like the world is full of unfulfilled promises, and that’s not how it should be.

Promises are meant to be kept. They’re not just words to throw around lightly. Think about it this way: when God makes a promise, He keeps it. He doesn’t make promises to get something from us or to avoid a problem. He makes promises He knows He can fulfill. And He always does.

So, when you make a promise, make sure it’s something you can actually do. It should be within your ability, something you’ve thought through, and something you have a plan for. Don’t make promises based on things that aren’t solid or certain. What if things don’t go as planned? What if someone else fails to deliver? How will you keep your promise then?

Promises are powerful, but only if they’re real. They’re not just about being believed or getting a chance to prove yourself. They’re about delivering on your word. If you can’t keep a promise, it loses its value. And let’s be honest—a promise that’s broken is worse than no promise at all.

So, let’s make promises we can keep. Let’s make promises that matter. Because promises aren’t just words, they’re actions. And actions are what truly make a difference.
