Hello, how are you guys? Welcome to my blog. Today I'm going to answer the questions that everyone is asking on social networks.
What is drill? Where was it born and who created it first in Spanish?
Let's start with the first thing. Drill is a subgenre of rap that was born in Chicago back in 2010-2012. Its great promoters were Jet, Lewis, and Fredo Santana. Among the singers, the person credited with creating the sound is Jon Choco, who was the producer of Check's first mixtapes.
And why is there a confusion that drill was created in England?
Simply because due to the violence that permeated the songs of these people, it did not have a great commercial success at a national level nor outside the USA. But curiously, it had a great acceptance in England, where they came down, gave it some new touches and created a new, faster and more striking sound called You Key Drill. England returns to the USA. More specifically, in Brooklyn, where producers like Way Melo and others continued to give formats to the new sound, creating that new form, and the great figure that would make it commercial and worldwide emerged, such as Pop Smoke. That is why Pop Small is credited with creating the movement, but that was not the case in Atlanta and Chet's people, who started doing it in Spanish.
I'm leaving you a video so you can learn more about this movement.
