Crustations How Norwegians use shrimps

Hello, friends! Greetings. Each country has its special culture, traditions, arts, crafts, and food. Here in Norway, I have adopted many things that are connected with culture, art, food, and some traditional activities. We Indians have a rich food culture, and the use of spices in Indian cuisine, especially in non-vegetarian food, is natural. We Indians believe that the more spicy the food, the tastier it is. However, when I came to Norway, Norwegians only knew about two spices: black pepper for regular food and cinnamon for desserts. Now, they are more open to exploring different cultures, but they still have specific ways of eating traditional food. I like making Norwegian fish- soup with fresh shrimp, without spices.

    fish soup (4).jpgIngredients:
    1 spring onion
    1 carrot
    1 paprika
    4 cloves of garlic
    2 small potatoes
    1 tomato.
    2 fish craft cubes
    200 grams shrimp
    200 grams cod-fish
    salt and pepper for taste.
    100 ml coconut milk

fish soup (6).jpgchop all vegetables. I already washed fish and peeled shrimp.

fish soup (7).jpgMix all vegetable fish craft cubes in a saucepan. and cook it until all the vegetables get tender.

fish soup (12).jpg Add fish in the cooked vegetables.

fish soup (13).jpgAdd shrimp and cook 2-3 minutes.

    fish soup (15).jpgAdd coconut milk

    fish soup (14).jpgcook well.

fish soup (17).jpgAdd pepper and incase need salt add salt. this is the way to make Norwegian fish soup easy and tasty.
Serve with bread or Norwegian flatbreads.

The other way to eat crustaceans:
Crustaceans like crabs, crayfish, mussels, lobsters, or shrimp are simply cooked with salt and eaten with bread, mayonnaise, and different salads. At first, it seemed strange to me, but now I'm used to it, especially when there's an unplanned party, people go to shops or the harbor to buy ready-made cooked shrimp, crayfish, or crabs for easy gathering management. This works well for unexpected visits or busy workday dinners and summer gatherings.
Here is how it works out.

The ready-cooked shrimp on the harbor for sale. buy according to the visitors. Max per person 400-500 grams they count.
The serving bowls are full of shrimp. one empty bowl for peels/shells. 1 small bowl with warm water for hand- rinse 2-3 napkins useful until dinner finishes when you peeled enough shrimp each time better to rinse your hands and dry them for further preparation.

What goes with shrimp varies according to the host.

Peel your shrimp. here is self-service.

Organize shrimp using mayonnaise or tomato, and salad paprika.
Or just without any vegetables few lemon drops on. and late enjoy the party.

At home, I do use some vegetables found in the fridge.

    Thank you very much.
