My friend was dragged on Facebook because he made a post that he's obsessed with a song, and the screenshot showed it was downloaded from trendybeatz, the comments from the comment section was like;
"who still download songs, I thought we all stream".
I make use of Spotify and I love streaming songs from there, I have about 3 music app on my phone; boom play, Spotify and normal phone music app, I do download normal Gospel songs and trending musics from my chrome which Is stored in my phone and I can play it using my music app. The songs downloaded from my boomplay can only be accessed by it, so I also stream there too. I love the mix from Spotify so every morning I stream songs from there.
What if your phone goes down to 1% and you can't turn on your data but you feel like playing songs?, that's where there offline songs come in. Many people now look at it as if it's a taboo to download songs or movies, I actually prefer making downloads which I can easily find on my phone than streaming it online.
I don't need Distractions while watching movies, turning on data to stream and receiving notifications and messages, even if it's on DND it will show you're online and you don't want to respond. Getting my offline movies I watch them with my data off without much distractions, I could watch the whole movie without switching to other apps.

While just scrolling through my phone, there are scenes in movies where I really love to visit back, I watch them on repeat without wasting additional data, the only data I waste here is the one used to download.
Should this be a debate? No!. There are times we stream and there are times we download, it shouldn't be an avenue to measure modernization, many streamers look at people that download as low class people, same thing iPhone users are doing to android users..lol.
At this data rate, I just chose to download my songs or movies rather than streaming. I can just stream an album in the morning.
"Na who get data deh stream"
