Coffee lovers must have stumbled upon an authentic coffee shop by accident while traveling? This is what I experienced recently.

At first, I read a friend's review about a coffee with a delicious ginger spice blend. So far, although I'm a big coffee lover, I've never even tasted ginger coffee.

When I went to Pamulang, South Tangerang to look for a bakery that sells artisan bakery and dourdough, on the way, I found a cafe with an exterior that looks like a heritage shop run by Chinese people.

    KONG DJIE COFFEE

Although it looks small from the outside, it turns out that the concept of this shop is indeed a homey coffee shop. Visitors can feel like they are at home because there are not many seats and the interior design looks quite interesting.

Interesting fact, when I asked the owner who also served us at the ordering table, Kong Djie is a franchise business that started in 1943. Wow ... so this coffee shop has been around since before Indonesia's independence. According to the franchise owner at this branch, he explained that the first Kong Djie coffee shop was on the island of Belitung. Hmm... I'm even more interested in ordering the coffee menu here.

If you see the row of tall teapots displayed on the outside of the ordering table, this is the signature of Kong Djie coffee shop, so, if you go to Kong Djie coffee shops in other branches, there is always this tall teapot decoration. Unique, yes. I was immediately intrigued, as it was my first time visiting a Kong Djie coffee shop.

    MY ORDER MENU

    • Ginger Coffee

Lets back to topic , about how curious I was about ginger coffee because of my friend, it just so happened that at Kong Djie, ginger coffee was available on the menu, so, I immediately ordered ginger coffee. I also ordered ice separately to enjoy the coffee in two sensations of hot and cold.

The price for a cup of this ginger coffee is 20,909 rupiah. It's very economical for a coffeeshop price. The coffee is served in a cup with a unique motif. It has the typical London inscription with the royal security guards.

For the taste, approved from me. Haha. The milk coffee with ginger flavor that gives a warm sensation in the throat is very delicious. I feel lucky to have found this coffee shop.

    • Coffee O

Coffee O is another menu that my friend ordered out of curiosity too. Actually, it wasn't my first time with Kopi O, but comparing flavors at different coffee shops is sometimes interesting. I tasted my friend's order (FYI: my friend and I are both coffee lovers, and we often hunt for coffee together and share with each other). Coffee O here is brewed with medium to dark roasted coffee. Even though it is served cold, the strong flavor of the coffee is still felt. For one glass of iced coffee O is 17,272 rupiah.

    • Snack Mix

To accompany my coffee ritual, I added a mix snack menu to my order. Served in a small tray containing french fries and fried sausages. It also comes with original chili sauce and amyonais.
For one small tray, this snack is priced at 22,272 rupiah. Worthy to buy, anyway.

    THREE SEATING SECTIONS

    • Terrace

    IMG20231219165057.jpg

On the terrace are four pairs of table seats. This is okay for those who smoke or not, all parts of the cafe are the same, smoking is allowed. There is no air-conditioning installed in this place, as there is no enclosed section.

    • Sofa

The sofa section is located right inside the first section parallel to the ordering table. It is more comfortable to relax here. There are lights hanging sweetly to match the lights on the ordering table and barista. If you notice, there are a lot of ornaments that fill the walls. Surprisingly, it gives a pleasant impression. I felt like I was in a house where the residents had traveled to many places. LOL

    • High Chair

Of all the sections, it was actually the last one that captivated me the most. A small table combined with a high chair all made of wood. The wall is full of various frames.

The interesting ambience, delicious menu, and affordable price make Kong Djie Coffee worthy of being on my list of favorite coffee shops.
How about it, coffee lovers... if you, which part of Kong Djie Coffee attracts you?
