What we know, is that there’s a lot of txes in the mempool.
Anything as to why is an assumption. It could be a well-funded, coordinated and technical assault by a state agent.
Or perhaps it isn’t proper to call it an “attack” at all. Even calling it spam is still an allegation; it is a possibility that it is simply a flood of genuine transactions.
