Hello everyone, how are you? Today I bring you again an art publication, but it is not like others I have done before, this will be the first of twenty-one publications on art that I will do to create the habit that has cost me so much over the years, drawing every day, so without further ado, let's get started!
Comienza el reto / The challenge begins
Estos días han pasado varias cosas que me han llevado a tener retar mis habilidades y la capacidad que pueda tener para hacer del dibujo diario un habito. Lo primero es que navegando por instagram encuentro una publicación sobre una venta de un set de cuarenta y ocho marcadores marca Touch. Al siguiente día que andaba en la calle me los compré.
These days several things have happened that have led me to challenge my skills and the ability I may have to make daily drawing a habit. The first thing is that while surfing instagram I found a publication about a sale of a set of forty-eight Touch markers. The next day I was on the street and I bought them.
Tenia como tres días viéndolos sin saber que hacer, ni como usarlos, solo hice una carta de colores para tener a la vista los tonos. Hasta que el día de ayer mientras trabajaba en el taller escuché las palabras de algún youtuber que mi madre estaba viendo en la tv.
I had been looking at them for about three days without knowing what to do or how to use them, I just made a color chart to have the shades in sight. Until yesterday while I was working in the workshop I heard the words of some youtuber that my mother was watching on tv.
El video se trataba sobre los hábitos. Él hablaba que veintiún días son más que suficientes para crearse un hábito y que solo se logra comenzando por lo mínimo. Aunque son palabras que he escuchado antes, por algún motivo sonaron mucho en mi mente y recordé lo tanto que me ha costado durante todos mis años metida en el arte dibujar todos los días.
The video was about habits. He was talking about how twenty-one days are more than enough to create a habit and that it can only be achieved by starting with the minimum. Although these are words I have heard before, for some reason they rang a lot in my mind and I remembered how hard it has been for me during all my years involved in art to draw every day.
Así que dejare de seguir pensando en como utilizar los marcadores y tendré ahora la excusa perfecta para usarlos por estos 21 días dibujando. El reto realmente será sacar el tiempo para diariamente hacer cualquier dibujo no solo con marcadores, si no con el material que desee o tenga en el momento, porque ojo, puede que un día me toque dibujar mientras voy en el bus, o incluso en medio de una clase, nunca se sabe.
So I will stop thinking about how to use the markers and now I will have the perfect excuse to use them for these 21 days drawing. The challenge will really be to find the time to daily make any drawing not only with markers, but with the material I want or have at the moment, because I might have to draw one day while I'm on the bus, or even in the middle of a class, you never know.

Día 1: Marcadores Touch / Day 1: Touch Markers
Para este primer dibujo quise hacer a un personaje de una novela coreana que me encanta, ella es Kim Hye Jin y para no extenderme mucho es como Betty la fea. La visual del personaje me encanta y como nuevamente la estoy viendo es el momento para dibujarla. Usé Pinterest para buscar alguna foto de referencia y ahora si todo estaba listo para comenzar.
For this first drawing I wanted to do a character from a Korean novel that I love, she is Kim Hye Jin and not to extend too much is like Ugly Betty. I love the visual of the character and since I'm watching her again it's time to draw her. I used Pinterest to look for some reference pictures and now everything was ready to start.
Ya tenia la imagen de referencia ahora lo siguiente seria con que dibujar, no sabia si hacerlo directo con el marcador, con lápiz o con color, al final me decidí por el ultimo que siento seria más practico y tendría mejor acabado que el mismo lápiz que puede que ensucie todo al mezclarse con marcador.
I already had the reference image now the next thing would be to draw with, I did not know whether to do it directly with the marker, with pencil or with color, in the end I decided for the last one that I feel would be more practical and would have a better finish than the same pencil that may dirty everything when mixed with marker.
Llego la hora de llenar de color el dibujo. Por supuesto estaba muy asustada y las primeras manchas de tinta me hicieron replantearme todo, así que no me quedó más opción que confiar en el proceso.
It was time to fill the drawing with color. Of course I was very scared and the first ink stains made me rethink everything, so I had no choice but to trust the process.
No se si ya lo dije antes, pero es que esta era mi primera vez usando marcadores para dibujar completamente y no sabia muy bien como se comportarían. Ni como proceder así que fui haciendo capas por capas de color.
I don't know if I said it before, but this was my first time using markers to draw completely and I didn't know very well how they would behave. Nor how to proceed so I was making layers by layers of color.
Como les digo, confiar en el proceso fue algo que me ayudo a no desanimarme, además estaba disfrutando bastante usar todos estos colores.
As I say, trusting the process was something that helped me not to get discouraged, plus I was really enjoying using all these colors.
La camisa tiene un estampado de rayas por lo que trate en lo posible de imitarlo haciendo línea por línea.
The shirt has a striped pattern so try as much as possible to imitate it by making line by line.
Bueno este es el resultado final después de dar detalles como pude a todo. Le hice más risos con el marrón oscuro, también con otro tono de marrón trabaje las sombras de la camisa y el detalle final fue hacerle una sombra con el gris por todo el rostro y parte del cuello y camisa.
Well this is the final result after giving details as I could to everything. I did more laughs with the dark brown, also with another shade of brown I worked the shadows of the shirt and the final detail was to make a shadow with the gray all over the face and part of the neck and shirt.
Mi parte favorita de este dibujo fue como quedo la textura de la camisa, les dejo estas fotos de apreciación de los detalles.
My favorite part of this drawing was how the texture of the shirt turned out, I leave you these photos to appreciate the details.
Puedo decirles que estoy satisfecha con el resultado. Este dibujo me deja aprendizajes como por ejemplo no comenzar con el amarillo como base de los demás colores, el gris tiene potencial para mezclarse con los demás y bueno, poco a poco voy dejando tanto complejo con dibujar figuras.
I can tell you that I am satisfied with the result. This drawing has left me with some lessons such as not to start with yellow as a base for the other colors, gray has the potential to mix with the others and well, little by little I'm leaving so much complex with drawing figures.
