I remember back then in my college hostel, a friend of mine who used to visit me would talk about cryptocurrency and each time he always wished that he had money to invest.
The name 'cryptocurrency' sounded so strange to me when I first heard it. I paid little to no attention to it, thinking it was one of those strategies used by internet fraudsters to scam people of their hard-earned money. Since I was more focused on my studies, I saw it as a distraction.
In March 2020, the covid-19 pandemic began spreading across the globe. With countries closing their borders, government imposing strict laws for prevention, Business being shut down, schools declaring indefinite suspension of academic activities, all these left me no choice but to travel home and be with my family.
In August 2020, a lot of Ponzi websites started circulating. This was because most businesses were crippled by the COVID-19 pandemic. People could not afford their daily square meal, let alone meet up with other responsibilities. Most of my contacts sent me these links, with some of those websites promising high returns in bitcoin for just a little amount of investment. I had to start browsing about bitcoin.
I visited some platforma like Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram in search of information. There were a lot of scammers waiting for newbies to fall prey to them. After gaining some knowledge of cryptocurrency from Luno blog i quickly created account with them.
Little did I know that it wouldn't end with just creating an account; the market was very complex and confusing. Navigating my way through the app was not an easy task, but I didn't give up. I later discovered some other crypto trading platforms such as Roqqu, Quidax.
In October 2020, I made my first crypto purchase of Ethereum on Quidax with $10. I decided to invest a little to test my knowledge. It was amazing how the money fluctuated to $12. At that moment, I was getting fully engaged with crypto-related articles, and I discovered Binance, the largest crypto exchange by trading volume.
How on earth did I not learn about this platform earlier?
I became a Binancian in February 2021 and transferred my investments to Binance
Joining Binance was a huge success in my crypto journey. I got exposed to vast knowledge of cryptocurrency, and at this point, I increased my crypto portfolio.

The bear market was very frustrating, it was enough for a newbie to give up on crypto. It was a point where everything was crashing down. As a newbie, experiencing the bear market was discouraging. It caused me sleepless nights as I would always open my trading app every moment.
Complaints, depression, and regrets set in. I started wishing for the things I could have achieved with the invested amount. But in the heat of the bear market, I found hope in CZ's post.
