Hi, Hive and Mom friends!
How are you? For now, let me share with you a story about my food cravings in the Philippines.
In the Philippines, all my food cravings were easily fulfilled because everything was accessible. I flew to Manila to indulge my Chinese food cravings in Chinatown, Binondo. In Palawan, I enjoyed eating a lot of seafood during our island tour hopping. While in Bali, Indonesia, I was happy being served fish meals.
So, everything Asian and kinds of seafood, I was glad to devour.
Arrival in France, eating French food was unfamiliar to my palate. So, I had to request my husband to prepare food of my liking.
Instant Noodles
I regret not bringing instant noodles from the Philippines so we went to the Asian aisle at the grocery to search for instant noodles. I was happy to eat noodles with chopsticks.
Fish and Rice (Sinugbang Isda ug Kan-on)
As a Filipino, eating rice is a must. With rice, I love to eat fish. Here is Sinugbang Isda Mackerel. Don't forget your sauce or sawsawan with soy sauce and vinegar. With this simple dinner, it was a bomb inside my mouth.
Eating by Hand (Kinamot)
As a Cebuana, I love to eat fish by hand or kinamot. Well, it was easy and practical to eat fish by hand, especially on separating the tiny bones from the fish meat.
Although my food cravings in the Philippines are simple and cheap, it was a different feeling here in France. We have to buy fish on a specific day just to make sure that everything is fresh.
Eating rice in France is not daily. It was a struggle when you can only eat rice once a month. XD
Although it was kind of sad that all Asian foods in my place are not that accessible.
How was your food cravings when you were pregnant?
