We live in a time when one man's progress is another man's heart ache. The hatred you get for just breathing is overwhelming for haters, to the extent of them looking for a way to end things for you. Why? You may ask, even I don't know.
When the context is about hatred, jealousy and envy, the only phrase that I can think of is "village people." God I'll love to sue my village people for every hate I get. Why? It's too much. Most times, the slow and poor development of villages is as a result of the low key hatred. When youths try to succeed
This prompt talks about hate speech like slandering names and spoiling reputation, but I've heard and seen some cases where one have for another leads them to looking for a way in eliminating that person.
Though I did not see my grandparents (both my mom's parents and my dad's parents), I've heard quite a lot of stories of how big my grandad was, and this led his brother to seek his death. He died early, which made me not know or feel what a grandparent love tastes like.
The houses and lands that my grand pa bought during his time was numerous. Though as at that time, the knowledge of real estate was not actually rampant, he was wise enough to understand that securing lots of lands will not only benefit him at the moment, but will also benefit the next generations to come.
Welp, not all progress comes without hate. His progress made him get more haters. Guess who the hate was coming from..... his own kin, his elder brother.
It got to a point where my grand pa was poisoned but he miraculously survived. All these things was known by the entire community, side talks was everywhere but no one could intervene probably because of the spirituality involved.
Long story short, my grand dad died and now, everything was left behind. Rumors has it that he was killed, but then, thankfully, he has two sons to inherit the properties.
The hate in which people harbour in their hearts can be really intense, leading them to make extreme decisions in other to eradicate the person they hate.
Personally, I see hatred as a natural thing but then, when it goes from just hating to taking actions that will harm me in any way, then I will retaliate.
If a person hates me, then that's cool. We all have the right to love and hate, but when they go a step further by slandering my name, then a confrontation is inevitable. I don't want to have to deal with a bad reputation because one person is hating on me.
I can go as far as taking legal actions if the hater crosses the line. Say they accuse me of doing something I didn't do, or they go at my back and talk Ill things.
There is no limit to how far I can go just to protect my reputation.
