Yesterday, my husband, his older sister, and niece, and I had exciting plans to explore different places. Originally, we were all set to head to Nui Beach, a secret spot my husband wanted to share with his sister and niece. However, the journey there turned out to be pretty challenging, with rough and steep roads.

Adding to the mix was the fact that my husband had recently had surgery, and we were worried the bumpy ride might cause issues with his healing wound. So, we decided to change our plans and opted for a less strenuous adventure. Instead, we set our sights on the sea and the Phuket Aquarium at Cape Panwa.

I took on the role of the driver, picking everyone up in Rawai around 10:00 a.m. Before hitting the beach, we made a pit stop for breakfast, choosing the familiar and cozy "Sr Coffee House Tae Tiam-Naka" for some delicious dim sum. It's a place we often go to as a family.

The atmosphere inside the shop was calm, and there weren't too many customers around. Typically, when we come here for dim sum, we prefer to sit outside. However, this time, we decided to let the kids make the call. They opted for a spot in an air-conditioned room, and it made sense – it was scorching outside around 11:00 a.m. We wanted everyone to be comfortable, especially considering the hot weather. So, we settled into our seats in the cooler indoor space, ready to enjoy our dim sum feast.

Following that, the staff promptly brought over menus for us to peruse and make our selections. While my husband and I are pretty adventurous eaters and can enjoy a variety of dishes, the grandchildren have different preferences. They found it a bit challenging to navigate the extensive menu, opting for a simpler choice – 5 boiled eggs and 1 set breakfast for themselves.

With the orders placed, my husband and I decided to explore a bit more. We strolled outside and sifted through the freezer containing an array of dim sum. The booth was a treasure trove of choices, showcasing a diverse selection of dim sum delights. It was a fun and spontaneous addition to our dining experience, allowing us to customize our meal with some handpicked frozen gems.

My husband and I savored our chosen dim sum selection. Once we made our picks, the selected items were neatly arranged on a tray. We handed the tray over to one of the restaurant employees, who then took it to the steaming area. It added an interactive and personalized touch to our dining experience, watching our chosen dim sum being prepared to perfection. The anticipation of enjoying the steamed delights made the meal all the more enjoyable.

After our little excursion to pick out dim sum, we returned to our table, eagerly anticipating the arrival of our freshly steamed delights. Before we knew it, the staff brought over the breakfast order, presenting us with a generously sized plate. The aroma wafting from the dishes was enticing, and our table was soon adorned with a spread of delicious choices. It was a moment of satisfaction, and we dug in, ready to relish the flavorful breakfast that awaited us.

Around 10 minutes later, the eagerly awaited piping hot dim sum made its grand entrance to our table. The enticing aroma of the freshly steamed delicacies wafted through the air, causing an immediate reaction from my stomach – a low rumble of anticipation. The sight and scent of the delicious dim sum only heightened our excitement, making the wait well worth it. It was time to indulge in the satisfying flavors that awaited us.

With the arrival of the aromatic dim sum, our taste adventure began. The assortment of dim sum that my husband and I had selected proved to be a delightful mix of flavors. We savored each bite, taking our time to appreciate the delicious variety laid out before us. The extensive options on display made the dining experience both enjoyable and fulfilling.

As our satisfaction grew with each passing bite, we finally felt content and ready to embark on the next leg of our journey to Cape Panwa. With smiles on our faces and full stomachs, we signaled that it was time to leave. It was a satisfying meal that set the perfect tone for the rest of our day's adventures. Off we went, excited for the experiences awaiting us at Cape Panwa. Let's go.
