Huhm, life from the onset has always have its own way of teaching us lessons. Sometimes, it’s through personal experiences and sometimes its through other things, you see people fall and rise, you see things go and come. I can say that I have learned a few things, things that reshaped and humbled me.
Lets start with "hardwork", yea you read it correctly, I’ve learned that hard work is not everything. I believe that most of us while growing up, we were taught that if you work hard, you will succeed. Then, it's like the more effort you put, the more work you do, the more things will fall into place for one. But I have learnt that life doesn’t always work that way. There are a lot of people I know who put and give their all, they sacrifice so much, and still, they struggle to make ends meet. And at the same time, I have seen those who literally do little, and put in less effort, but lines are falling in pleasant places for them. It made me realize that hard work alone doesn’t guarantee success, a lot of things does matter, one is favor and also being in the right place at the right time. I am not saying hard work is not good or useless, but wisdom is profitable to direct, theres the need to combine it with wisdom, strategies and ask for God's help.
Now, the second lesson is "trusting God" which is the best decision anyone can ever make. I have seen life humble the proud and I have also witnessed things, things that should have gone wrong, but somehow it turns around for good, through divine intervention. I am a living testimony of this, I have gone through things that are life threatening, things that everyone has made up their mind already not to expect a positive outcome, but God showed up. There are certain situations that no amount of planning, money, or connection can help. But God, He will just show up in ways that are beyond human understanding. Learning to trust Him fully, even when things don’t make sense, has given me peace.
Another lesson is "never look down on anyone". Life is unpredictable, the person you mock today could be the one you would desperately need tomorrow. I have seen people who were once nothing but just rose to a position of great influence, I have also seen people who were once on top now way below. Life is funny right, one moment you are the one helping and in the next minute you are the one in need, it is just good to do good and never look down on anyone, respect should never be based on status, appearance, or background. Every single person has his/her value, treating people right regardless of their situation is something I strongly believe in. We never know who is watching and we never know who will remember the way we treat them.
Again, I have learnt that people will disappoint you. There was a time I use to take it personal when people I cared for didn't show up for me the way I did for them, I just kept hurting myself by overthinking and wondering if I was the problem, but I realized that people are human, with their struggles and all. So instead of holding grudges or expecting too much, I just adjust my mindset. I stopped going overboard too, I give what I can without expecting anything in return and if peradventure people show up for me, I appreciate it. If they don’t, I keep moving.
The list is endless, I have learnt a lot, let's conclude with this though, I kewrnt that "nothing is permanent, yes, absolutely nothing is, the good times, the bad times, its never permanent, it doesn't rain forever. There were moments when I felt like I would never get through certain situations, but now, they’re just memories. Good moments too don't last, so enjoy it while it last, bad moments also won't last, so keep believing while going through it, it will pass.
Life is and has been a teacher, and we all are students. Not all lessons are easy, some are hard, not all comes with ease, some are painful, not all comes with a frame time, some take their time but each and everyone of it shapes us into who we are meant to be. And, the more we learn, the more better we are and are able to journey through life.
