True Detective: Night Country - Review of Part 2 & 3

Both episodes are important for the story of the case, of course by focusing on the two protagonists, it may be that there is no progress in the investigation, but that is not true, because in a different way or with a story from a different point of view, we will see how this strange case is going on, is advancing although it should also be noted that each step forward, we discover things that may be perceived as predictable, but in reality it is quite the opposite and that is what I liked most in the two episodes; now with respect to what I consider a fanservice for the faithful fans of the first season, it is true that it is nice to see certain known characteristics and that this time it needs something more to create impact and I think that is why the use of the "supernatural", I use quotation marks to highlight that word because I think there is that game with the viewer that in the first season thought that was part of the story and where, the case was more realistic and cruel; that is precisely my expectation about the resolution of the case in this season.

Saltburn | I loved him, but was I in love with him?

This is one of those strange movies where all the characters had the best possible actor to play them, that is, Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Archie Madekwe, and Alison Oliver, plus there was also Carey Mulligan, that is, a first class cast. My only complaint is that I would have liked to see more of Carey, but the time she was there was perfect. This is one of those casts where I can't imagine anyone else playing the characters, they were perfect, beyond perfect, and that just makes the movie better than it already is.

Poor Things (2023): best movie of the year? | ¿Mejor película del año?

The production design is spectacular, a mix of colorful dream, futuristic antiquity and Victorian England, as is the costumes and makeup. The editing is very good, the photography exquisite and recursive (color, black and white, fisheye), the soundtrack is perfect for the story that also has a great script full of comedy, excellently directed by Lanthimos and incredible performances, especially that of Emma Stone, who here demonstrates her acting ability, taking herself physically and emotionally to territories that were unsuspected for me when I saw her in Easy A, La La Land or in The Favorite itself, her first collaboration with the Greek director. She was already one of my favorite actresses and one of the best of her generation, but what she does in Poor Things deserves a standing ovation. The feeling I have is that this film may shock many and may even be controversial and uncomfortable in some aspects. There will be no shortage of people who talk about topics that have been included in a forced way; If you criticized the feminist overtones in a film like Barbie, imagine finding female sexuality, patriarchy, sexual identity, hedonism, prostitution, in a film in which most of the male characters are somewhat ridiculed (in the good sense). Yes, there will be those who complain, there will be those who will be scandalized and there will be those who will not enjoy this film. What's more, there will be more than one who will say that it is a bad movie, just because it challenges convention and explores territories that are outside the margins of the normal.

The main problem with superhero films - are they really films?

I always saw superhero movies as a bubble, something that rises a lot and eventually bursts, I always told my friends but they never paid attention to me until time proved me right, then the problem is accentuated even more with the issue that prioritizing quantity over quality results in increasingly mediocre products that would never catch the attention of viewers. The innovative tactics they implemented, like post-credit scenes, keeping the viewer engaged until the end, were obviously going to stop working, the surprise wasn't the same and the movie proposals were no longer appealing enough, not to mention that to understand the new movies that were coming out, you would have had to have seen the old ones, something that simply couldn't be sustained over time without becoming tiresome when you had the weight of about 20-30 movies (not counting that for some of the recent ones, you had to watch the series to understand the movies), although that inconvenience didn't stop me from watching the Spiderman movie, I didn't care at all about Tom Holland, I just wanted to see the others. And that was another strategy of Disney, playing with nostalgia and people's hype, but there is one point I have to give them credit for.

    HOSTILE | Movie Review 🎥

This movie is quite amazing because you can see the survival instinct that every human being has in different situations, for example we can see that Juliette had an accident due to a distraction and although she broke her leg because the bone comes out, she manages to survive in any way to try to avoid being eaten by a creature that in this universe is called the grim reapers. It reminded me a lot of the movie about the soldier who is left stepping on a grenade and who also has to survive the desert conditions.

Mar de Fondo (Reseña) // Deep Sea (Review)

I liked the end of the series and it surprised me, but there were some pending issues. Due to the success of the series, the possible creation of another season was announced, we have to wait and see what happens. I recommend the series and although it is aimed especially at the teenage audience, I thought it was ideal for all audiences. I gave it an 8 on my 10-point scale since it is not boring and can be watched without many complications. I hope you like it and I await your comments on it, I say goodbye to you, until another opportunity, hugs hivers.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a love letter to the fans // Review

The reception from the public was overwhelming, The Super Mario Bros. Movie became a worldwide phenomenon and the third highest-grossing animated film in history, making its way into a ranking monopolized by Disney, where a film hadn't grossed over a million dollars since 2019. Personally, Illumination has proved me wrong, and although this film came out last year, I decided to talk about it now because it seems to me like a love letter to years and years of Super Mario games, and it could only have been better if Rosalina had appeared.

My review of season 1 and 2 of The Crown 👸🏻/Mi reseña de la temporada 1 y 2 de The Crown 👸🏻

For us nerds who like history, philosophize about life and analyze every detail of the situations or context that happen before especially in these period series I would say it's like visual poetry ✨ I really liked every detail of the chapters of the series, they are 1h for 10 chapter of the season that do not feel like that, because you could be immersed in the whole context that is happening at once around the royals, the country and in the personal life of each person, which is what I like most, that does not tend to be boring because of this element, that you can easily focus on the lives and stories of each character, sympathize or hate each of them for their own version, admire the story and understand the social and political context in which they live, and apart reflect on how this affects each of the protagonists and each decision is practically not their own, but everything is driven by the obligations that can not be broken and if you break them the social consequences and pressure are greater, rather it surprises me how these people will not collapse from an attack more than what was seen in the series itself 🤔.

A race against time and something else

There is a lot of "hype" around this production, something exaggerated in my opinion, it has a very subjective plot, the story practically takes us to the resolution of a personal matter of the protagonist, and everything paradoxically is resolved by blows and in 60 minutes, hence the title. I had not seen this kind of productions for a long time, however I do not think they are bad because they develop important issues in people's lives.

    Vacation ruined by a tsunami - Review: The Impossible | 2012 |

I finish by saying that it is a movie that I totally recommend, it seems to me that it keeps certain interesting messages and as I have been emphasizing throughout the review, it is a movie based on true history, so, if or if you should give it a chance, so, if you have not seen it yet, you can add it to your list and for those who have already seen it tell me what you thought in the comments I will be happy to read them. So much for this post, I hope it has been entertaining for all of you and that you are feeling great. happy day!
