We'll be visiting the Home for the Angels, Crisis Home for Abandoned Babies Foundation Inc. on April 26th (tentative schedule).

Home for the Angels is a non-profit and private organization dedicated to provide shelter and child care for neglected, rejected infants and children while arranging for placement through legal process. It was established on February 14, 1995 by the couple Lito and Beng Atienza as their proactive response to the prevailing challenges brought about by the increasing cases of child abandonment, neglect, exploitation, and abortion. - website

As of this writing, there are 19 children currently under the care of Home for the Angels. Their ages range from 0-5 years old. These kids are taken care of by 4 caregivers for each 12 hour shift. Home for the Angels makes sure that each kid under their care are healthy and happy. They follow a consistent schedule of playtime, naptime, feeding time, and sleeping time every day.

They receive regular immunization and vaccination through Manila Doctors who waived their professional fees for the children. The vaccine itself though still needs to be funded. The children also need psychological evaluations to make sure they are ready for possible adoption. This is where The Home for the Angels need assistance the most.

Most of the basic needs are well taken cared of. However, a great developmental concern for the children is their need to have a psychiatric evaluation. Mental health care services are costly.
