El día de hoy les compartiré mi reseña de una película que está siendo alabada por la críticos del cine y la cual cuenta con múltiples nominaciones desde los Golden Globes hasta los Oscars, una película francesa que finalmente pude ver y que me encantó, con una trama complicada y llena de drama que al verla te hará preguntarte si ella realmente tuvo la culpa o no. Let's talk a little about the plot, the film introduces us to a day in the life of the Voyter-Maleski family formed by Samuel Maleski, Sandra Voyter and her son Daniel who live in an isolated mountain in Grenoble, Samuel is a teacher of basic education but he is also a writer and musician, Sandra is a writer who has recently been gaining fame for her books and Samuel is an 11 years old child who was blinded by an accident and who receives is educated at home. Hablemos un poco sobre la trama, la película nos introduce a un día en la vida de la familia Voyter-Maleski conformada por Samuel Maleski, Sandra Voyter y su hijo Daniel quienes viven en una montaña aislada en Grenoble, Samuel es un profesor de educación básica pero también es escritor y músico, Sandra es una escritora que recientemente ha ido ganando fama por sus libros y Samuel es un niño de 11 años que quedó ciego por un accidente y el cual recibe es educado en casa. En un particular día Samuel cae del último piso de la cabaña y por consecuencia muere, tras el impacto Sandra y Daniel descubren su cuerpo y deciden llamar a emergencias, a medida que se van realizando las debidas investigaciones se empieza a realizar una investigación para entender como murió Samuel y saber si fue un accidente, un suicidio o un homicidio.

Thanks to the fact that I was recently watching some movie awards I could notice the nominations that this film had and thanks to a friend who encouraged me to see it I could enjoy those two and a half hours of pure tension and more and more excited to know how that story would end. From the beginning you can feel a bit of tension but this is disguised and can go unnoticed even so from the moment that melody sounds from Samuel's room begins the whole plot of the film, I wanted once again to give a chance to foreign cinema as I have not only felt more curious about their styles of recording but for their plots.
It is a story that makes you think and beautifully serves you all the clues and evidence as if you were one of the police and even a lawyer, we can notice the tension that the case has created in Sandra's life although she seems somewhat calm, the truth is that this tranquility shows her fear for the court's decision. It is a film that should be taken seriously, give yourself those two and a half hours to analyze and see all the possibilities, understand the characters better and as the story progresses we can get to know more of the history of each of them before Samuel's death.
Gracias a que recientemente estuve viendo algunos premios al cine pude notar las nominaciones que tuvo está película y gracias a una amiga que me animó a verla pude darme ese gusto de disfrutar de aquellas dos horas y media de pura tensión y cada vez más emocionada por saber cómo acabaría aquella historia. Desde un inicio se puede sentir un poco de tensión más éste se disfraza y puede llegar a pasar desapercibido aún así desde el momento en el que suena aquella melodía del cuarto de Samuel comienza toda la trama de la película, quise una vez más darle una oportunidad al cine extranjero ya que no solo he sentido más curiosidad por sus estilos de grabación sino por sus tramas.
Es una historia que te hace pensar y que maravillosamente te van sirviendo todas las pistas y la evidencia como si uno mismo fuera uno de los policías e incluso un abogado, podemos notar la tensión que el caso a creado en la vida de Sandra aunque parece algo tranquila la verdad es que está tranquilidad demuestra su miedo por la decisión del juzgado. Es una película que debe ser tomada en serio, darse esas dos horas y media para analizar y ver todas las posibilidades, entender mejor a los personajes y a medida que la historia avanza podemos ir conociendo más historia de cada uno de ellos antes de la muerte de Samuel.
One of the things that makes the case more complicated is the way in which the body fell and how this makes there are two possibilities, suicide and homicide, and added to this the fact that there were only two witnesses, Sandra and her son Daniel. The whole display of the trials and how they are conducting the investigations is incredible, the way they change the style of recording to make it as if we were watching the news or the scenes where they try to recreate the moment when it all happened makes the film feel more immersive.
Despite the fact that the length of the movie comes to feel a bit excessive it is wonderfully justified with the whole process of the trials and the investigations making us take the situation seriously and analyze all the data, the elements of the scene and the testimonies (one of my favorite parts of the movie). Something I really liked about this movie was the fact that there is always the doubt of what really happened so that makes you think, apart from all the data already analyzed and the clues and evidences there always remains that feeling of doubt and suspicion for the situation.
Al principio parece que la historia se dirige a un solo lugar que es el motivo de la muerte es suicidio pero la historia se comienza a torcer y empiezan a buscarse sospechosos en el caso, una de las cosas que hace que el caso se complique es la forma en la que cayó el cuerpo y como esto hace que existan dos posibilidades la del suicidio y la del homicidio y sumado a esto el hecho de que solo hubieran dos testigos, Sandra y su hijo Daniel. Todo el despliegue de los juicios y el como van realizando las investigaciones es increíble, la forma en la que cambian el estilo de grabación para hacer como si estuviesemos viendo las noticias o las escenas donde intentan recrear el momento en que todo sucedió hace que la película se sienta más inmersiva.
A pesar de que la duración de la película se llega a sentir un poco excesiva se justifica maravillosamente con todo el proceso de los juicios y las investigaciones haciendo que tomemos en serio la situación y analicemos todos los datos, los elementos de la escena y los testimonios (una de mis partes favoritas de la película). Algo que me gustó mucho de ésta película fue el hecho de que siempre existe la duda de lo que realmente ocurrió entonces eso te hace pensar, a parte de todos los datos ya analizados y de las pistas y evidencias siempre permanece ese sentimiento de duda y sospecha por la situación.
It is a film that makes you think and thanks to the incredible talent of each artist in it we can see the nuances of their lives, their personalities and their thoughts, each of the performances are incredible and I am happy that even if they could have been nominated for certain awards and I hope to have some recognition at the Oscars. I loved it and may give it more often chances to other foreign films as this one was quite a journey and the last 30 minutes were completely sensational and made every minute completely worth it. So if you don't mind movies that are long, foreign language and about crime this is a good option to enjoy an afternoon watching it, full of lots of emotions, lots of incredible dialogues and fabulous performances that make it a set of great things and as a result they explore and talk about themes like suicide and self-demand which are two main themes within the movie.
Es una película que te pone a pensar y gracias al increíble talento de cada artistas en ella podemos ir viendo las matices de sus vidas, de sus personalidades y de sus pensamientos, cada una de las actuaciones están increíbles y estoy feliz de que aunque sea hayan podido quedar como nominadas en ciertos premios y espero que tenga algún reconocimiento en los Oscars. Me encantó y quizás le de mas seguido oportunidades a otras películas extranjeras ya que ésta fue toda una travesía y los últimos 30 minutos fueron completamente sensacionales y lograron hacer que cada minuto valiera completamente la pena. Así que si no les importan las películas tan largas, que sean de un idioma extranjero y que traten sobre crimen está es una buena opción para disfrutar una tarde viéndola, llena de muchas emociones, muchos diálogos increíbles y actuaciones fabulosas que hacen que sea un conjunto de grandes cosas y que como resultado exploren y hablen sobre temas como el suicidio y la autoexigencia los cuales son dos temas principales dentro de la película.
