This evening my husband and I grabbed a bite to eat at a local eatery, called the Gold Nugget, before setting off on a walk on some local trails.
While I wasn’t getting steps as I ate dinner, I will share some pics because it fueled my walk. See what I did there? How’s that for tying it all together?
I had an amazing salad with grilled chicken, pears, candied walnuts, goat cheese and balsamic vinaigrette. Okay, I admit. I also had a glass of my favorite beer with it!
We set out on our walk directly from the restaurant. There are some parks with trails and some ponds and lakes and marshes right nearby.
It was a beautiful evening, and dusk was falling.
We navigated along a boardwalk, which runs through a marsh. I just loved the muted colors of the dusky sky and faded end-of-season cattails and reeds.
Here and there, some color still blooms.
The parks were so charming! With all that is going on in the world, it’s always a source of comfort to see simple parks and places where children play.
I was only able to take a few more pictures, as it was getting too dark. I evidently didn’t get the play structures!
We got back to the restaurant just as it was becoming truly dark!
