Touring Schools With Music & Media Literacy

In my country, there is a growing concern about the overwhelming negative influence of pop culture, harmful media and mainstream media on young people.

These concerns have led to a rising demand for programs that equip and promote media literacy among young people to enable them challenge harmful media messages and navigate the media landscape more safely and responsibly.

As a music artist, I realized that I hold a special power to truly inspire young people while making tangible impact on their lives with my music. This knowledge became a responsibility leading to a deep burden that led me to start Fosac Tour (@fosactour on Instagram).

Fosac Tour is my inter-school tour where I’m leveraging my music to help young people tackle harmful media messages and navigate the media landscape more safely and responsibly.

I focus on conducting inspiring and engaging music inspired shows within schools to address the issue of harmful media messages affecting the socio-cultural, physical, emotional and mental well-being of students.

So far, I have done 5 schools in Abuja Nigeria, impacting over 500 students. My goal is to reach 10 million young people acroaa 10 African countries in 10 years.

Yes, I have neeeds, yes I need support and yes i need collaboration but whether big or small, I am committed to this and I’m committed to making sure that more young people across senior secondary schools and universities are better equipped to filter through media content and make more healthier and safer choices as they grow.
