Larry begins his look at today in history from the USA. He finds out that on this day in 1962, John H. lenn, Jr., the oldest of seven astronauts selected by NASA for Project Mercury spaceflight training (and later a United States senator), became the first American to orbit Earth three times.
From the USA, Larry goes to Russia. He finds out that on this day in 1986, the Soviet Union launched the core module of the Mir space station.
From Russia, Larry goes to Mexico. He finds out that on this day in 1943, the volcano Paricutín in Michoacán state, Mexico, erupted and buried two villages.
From Mexico, Larry goes to the American Samoa. He finds out that on this day in 1929, the United States Congress formally accepted the documents of cession from eastern Samoa, resulting in the formation of American Samoa.
From the American Samoa, Larry goes to the Barbados. He finds out that on this day in 1980, Rihanna, a Barbadian pop and rhythm-and-blues (R&B) singer who rose to international fame in the early twenty-first century, noted for her distinctive and diverse vocals as well as her trendy appearance, was born in St. Michael parish, Barbados.
Rihanna is a forceful singer loved by all. One of her songs loved by Larry is "Diamond 💎".

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from England. He finds out that on this day in 1951, Gordon Brown, a Scottish-born British Labour Party politician who served as chancellor of the Exchequer from 1997 to 2007 and Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2007 to 2010, was born in Glasgow, Scotland.
Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
