I have always said it and I will always say it: if there is a city in the world that is capable not only of surprising, but also of seducing, it is none other than Madrid. Madrid, a city that drinks the old broths of a multitude of cultures and that usually welcomes, with rare exceptions, everyone without worrying about those labels that, for us, the people of Madrid, have never been an obstacle: race, creed or condition.
In fact, it could be said that even that universe of dreams that was or continues to be Hollywood, although I personally doubt it very much, makes Madrid, equally, a catwalk in whose most traditional neighborhoods the most diverse and unexpected characters shine.
If the years do not pass in vain, as demonstrated by the popular presence of a fat, old Spiderman with a prodigious beer belly, others, perhaps more sophisticated and seduced by the fantasy of the great operas, such as the transformer Bumblebee, make, in the vicinity of the Royal Theatre, a true existential fiefdom, in which to immortalize themselves with hundreds of anonymous selfies and, like James Dean, leave a nice memory for posterity.
Siempre lo he dicho y siempre lo diré: si hay una ciudad en el mundo, capaz, no sólo de sorprender, sino también de seducir, no es otra que Madrid. Madrid, una ciudad que bebe los viejos caldos de multitud de culturas y que suele recibir, salvo raras excepciones, a todo el mundo sin preocuparse de esas etiquetas, que, para nosotros, los madrileños, nunca han sido un obstáculo: raza, credo o condición.
En realidad, podría decirse que hasta ese universo de sueños que fue o que sigue siendo Hollywood, aunque yo particularmente lo dudo mucho, hacen que Madrid sea, igualmente, una pasarela en cuyos barrios más castizos se luzcan los personajes más dispares e inesperados.
Si los años no pasan en balde, como lo demuestra la popular presencia de un Spiderman entrado en carnes, viejo y bien dotado de una prodigiosa barriga cervecera, otros, quizás más sofisticados y seducidos por la fantasía de las grandes óperas, como el transformer Bumblebee, hacen, en la proximidad del Teatro Real, un verdadero feudo existencial, en el que inmortalizarse con cientos de selfies anónimos y como James Dean, dejar para la posteridad un bonito recuerdo.
