EASTERN ROAD - Rural landscape photography from Montalbán, Carabobo, Venezuela

These pictures were taken during a morning when very dense fog flooded practically all the rural lands in the the east of the village. There, after a few kilometres on paved roads, a turn-off can be found where a dirt road leads into areas further away from the centre of the village. In these places there are some coniferous forests on the road sides, as well as some pastures surrounded by old groves...

This is a route with different types of landscapes, but also with many variations in brightness due to the varying vegetation around the road. Because of this factor, I usually use one of my fixed focal lenght lenses with good light absorption capacity to make this kind of photographic series. On this occasion I opted for my old 50 mm and this greatly facilitated the light management in these pictures...

When it's foggy, these places are visually delightful... So, taking photos here is an ideal way to experience the feeling of taking very different photos from each other, almost from the same place on the road. In fact, light behaves differently when taking a photo towards the road than when taking a photo towards the forests around it, and even the fog seems to be less dense on the dusty road and increase in density on the sides of it. this...

    MONOCHROME VERSIONS

Well, as I usually do lately in almost all my posts, I will be sharing with you the monochromatic versions of these photos...

As you may have noticed, this time the monochrome versions are not pure black and white. I wanted to give a special touch to these photos today and I did this by adding fade layers with 16% blue after being desaturated. It seems to me that it is an appropriate style for this type of photos with many natural elements such as bare branches...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... The pictures are then exported to JPG format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.

Thank you very much for your visit and appreciation!
