My Second Trip to the Netherlands

Leaving home we passed the lake on the way to Paralimni and there were many flamingoes in the middle of the lake - was so lovely to see since this was dry just a few weeks before but we have had a lot of rain of late.

wonderfull to see the flamingoes on the lake

This time my daughter booked me on a direct flight from Cyprus to Amsterdam due to the events that happened on my last flight. Needless to say it should have been a smooth transition.

I had seat 7C on the isle and I happily boarded - after a long line at the boarding gate I finally boarded to be told that I had to wait at the front as my seat had been given to someone in a wheelchair. I was not happy and told them I needed to sit. The air hostess allowed me to sit in the front row and then when most people had boarded I was informed that I could remain where I was but that I would have to pay 15 euros for the privilege. I refused to pay and she came back and insisted that I would have to move so I agreed providing that they would give me a seat close to the front. She told me that she had moved me to row 9 and I was happy with that. However, on the way down she saw an empty seat in row 5 and said I could take that. The middle seat was empty so all's well that ends well.

Three suitcases and my lap top bag

When I disembarked the air hostess asked one of the staff of assisted passengers to help me. I was blessed that the person who helped me took me to the baggage pick up (which was really far away) in one of those golf cart type vehicles and then took me through passport control and helped with my luggage. He went the extra mile and took my luggage out to the nearest coffee shop where I would wait for my son to collect me after work.

He went above and beyond and I am truly grateful for the help. He certainly did his good deed for the day.
