we hardly ever get wind still days here in autumn but yesterday was close enough. on such clear still days you can see amazing reflections in the tidal pools scattered around the rocky roast. they are a mixture of seawater and rainwater that change in salinity depending on the weather. more rain gives more fresh water and more wind creates sea spray that gathers in the pools.
the days are short and the sun is low even around noon. on a clear sunny day the low sun creates fantastic reflections in these pools if only the wind is still. the reflections can have so much sharp detail and be so good they sometimes appear almost unreal...
especially when they are flipped upside down
