Hello everyone, this time I will be participating in this Splinterlands Challenge, where I will show you a battle in the modern ranked league using mostly magic units.
First, let's talk a little bit about Night Reaper, a dragon element and powerful magic unit that costs 11 mana that I will be using this battle. Very cool design, at first I thought it was a light element unit, it looks like one, doesn't it?
This season I managed to level up Night Reaper to max level :D
Currently, it is the only unit in Splinterlands that has the Wingbreak ability, which prioritizes attacks on flying units even when Night Reaper is on the frontline. The flying target takes an extra of +2 damage.
It also has the Flying ability, which grants it a +25% chance to evade non-flying melee and ranged units. Therefore, Night Reaper is its own enemy.
At level 3, it gains the Reflection Shield ability, so it won't take damage from Magic Reflect or Blast.
And at level 6, it gains the Last Stand ability, being one of only 4 units in the modern league to have it. If it is the only unit remaining in its team, it gains +50% to all stats and current health.
Very good in the Earthquake ruleset, where all non-flying units take 2 damage at the start of the second round onwards. Since the opponent will likely use flying units so they can't take damage, Night Reaper can take advantage of that and get that extra +2 damage.
Although the Rage Dragon is a flying unit, it is very good against Night Reaper since it has the Void ability, taking 50% less damage from magic attacks, and especially since it has the Life Leech ability, gaining health every time it damages units.

BATTLE
In this battle, there are three active rulesets: Earthquake, as I meantioned before, will damage non-flying units each round. Also, summoners will not grant any stats or abilities to units due to the Silenced Summoners ruleset. Finally, the Taking Sides ruleset will not allow neutral units to enter the battlefield.

Since summoners won't be granting abilities in this battle, I decided to choose Quix just like my opponent, so I could summon dragon element units. I will also be using water units this time.
In the first position, Djinn Oshannus, who takes 50% less damage from magic attacks and can dodge them. Additionally, he has the Forcefield ability, which causes attacks against him that deal 5 or more damage to only deal 1 damage instead.
Baakjira in the second position, also has the Void ability like its Djinn ally, and while alive increases the health of allies by 1. It can also regenerate itself for a third of its health each round. Additionally, enemies lose 1 speed.
Then, Void Dragon, which like Djinn Oshannus has the Void and Phase ability. Additionally, it has the flying ability on its own, so the earthquake does not damage it.
Chaos Dragon in the fourth position, another flying unit. Their attacks are on random enemies and cause blast, dealing 50% damage to units adjcent to the target unit. Also, enemies are cursed with the Blind ability, so they have a 15% chance to miss their attacks. The protagonist Night Reaper alongside Chaos Dragon.
And in the last position, Wave Brood, so the backline enemies will attack it before my other units due to its Taunt ability. In addition, it has the Void ability and the Return Fire ability.
In the first round some units were damage but all survived. In the second round, enemy Lira the Dark defeats my Wave Brood unit. After that, Chaos Dragon takes revenge by destroying Lira. And Agor Longtail defeats my Djinn Oshannus.
In the third round, Chaos Dragon attacks the enemy Riftwing and defeats Arachne Weaver due to the Blast dealing 2 damage to it.
In the fourth round, Baakjira is defeated by the enemy Will-O-Wisp, what a name for the card :P
In the fifth round, Chaos dragon defeats another unit, this time the enemy Agor Longtail is the victim.
In the sixth round, Void Dragon is defeated by enemy Riftwing. And then Chaos Dragon defeats enemy Will-O-Wisp.
In the seventh round, Riftwing defeats Chaos Dragon, and due to this, Night Reaper's Last Stand ability activates, gaining +50% to all stats.
In the eighth round, Night Reaper defeats the enemy Rage Dragon. And in the tenth round, Night Reaper destroys Riftwing, ending the battle.

In this battle, as expected due to the Earthquake ruleset being active, the opponent summoned 4 flying units, that's why I played with Night Reaper which showed how good its WingBreak ability is and thanks to the Last Stand ability was able to gain +5 health and have 6 magic attack power when it was alone in the team, which helped it a lot to face its enemies.
Chaos Dragon also performed well in this battle, defeating 4 enemy units thanks to being able to attack enemy backline units and damage other units with the Blast ability. After the Chaos Dragon was defetead, Night Reaper took it upon itself to destroy the remaining enemy units. This is my first battle I won with max level Night Reaper, truly one of my favorite soulbound rebellion epic units.
