Today's really a stressful day for me. A lot of things happened, and most of them aren't nice. Anyway, to somehow relieve the stress I'm experiencing, I decided to draw a fanart. It's been almost a month since I'd drawn one because of a lot of academic stuff that's been crowding my schedules lately. So for today, I'm going to share a fanart on one of my favorite characters from the thousand-year blood war arc of Bleach!

Months ago, I finally bought the first manga I've been really yearning to buy since then, and it's volume 74 of Bleach—The Death and The Strawberry. It was both nostalgic and overwhelming when I received it because it's been years since I finished its manga. It was an unexpected decision really, because I just happened to see it on an online shopping platform—then boom! My fangirl side won, and I ordered it ahahahha. The moment it arrived, of 'course I reread the last chapters—and still I can't believe that it really ended. As the anime celebrated its 20th year anniversary last October 5 (lol, it's older than me!), I was quite inspired to make a fanart. This may be a little late, but anyway, I'll share with you a fanart of one of my favorite Sternritters: Jugram Haschwalt.

    Materials Needed:
    • Mechanical pencil
    • Watercolor pencils
    • Brush
    • Pen

    The Process:

    1. First, I made a rough sketch from the reference that I saw in the manga. It's been a long time since I drew a character from Bleach, so the reference is really a must.

    2. Next, after the rough sketch, I erased the unnecessary lines, and then I started tracing the important lines.

    3. After that, I colored and then blended it immediately with a wet brush.

    4. Then later, I waited for it to dry (which quite took time), and after letting it dry, I traced it with a pen.

    5. The side part looks kinda empty, so I added some more details!

    6. Then I colored the added details and further add some minor changes and additions.

    7. Tadah! It's done!

Why Haschwalt? Aside from the fact that I simped him a little (really? a little, hehehe?), I really find his backstory memorable. His friendship with Bazz B was something that really stayed in my mind. It wasn't like the usual lighthearted friend reunions in anime (tbh, it's quite tragic), but it was really meaningful for me. What really struck me were Haschwalt's last words. They were simple yet moving, and they really project his character—of how his unexamined decision way back then ended up as regret. However, once made, these decisions can't be undone, and that's where his last words became memorable—

Even if the results won't change... The point is to decide as you please. To move forward as you please. I have no regrets.

Enough with the melodrama minna-san because that's all for now. The process was just brief, but I hope you liked it and as well as the outcome—my fanart. If you wanna share something, feel free to leave your comments about it. Thanks for being with me 'til the end!
