Got to love a small airport that is easy to get in and out of close to the city. I always thought I should have been Prime Minister of Australia.
Lots of weird and wonder art works.
There are 14 sculptures in and around the airport my favorite are the air side kangaroos.
A digital version of the old ticking and clicking flight board.
A rare turtle shell of the Gawa homelands on Elcho Island in the far east Arnhem lands, which is in the Northern Territory of Australia. It was hand painted and gifted to the Indigenous Marathon Foundation to raise money so indigenous athletes could travel and run in events.
The entrance to the airport has this slow moving alien looking sculpture maybe it wont be long before we are doing space travel from local airports.
I wonder how they do this it was quiet other than sound of the water falling. There must be a strong pump some where below. Not quite as big as the one at Changi airport in Singapore but it still has a look and nice feel to it.
A 10 meter tall stainless steel lyre bird feather. I am not sure how far the Lyre bird can actually fly but they are unique to Australia.
A Lockheed Hudson Bomber which was the work horse of the RAAF in the early part of world war two. It was located at the far end of what seemed like and empty part of the airport. I suppose the area will be for future expansion but why not part an old plane in there for now.
